Taking the biscuit
The Doctor has Iced Twirls?

If a bear runs at you, stand your ground, wave your arms and make as much noise as you can. If this doesn't scare the bear off it is suggested, as what I assume to be a last resort, you can try and jab your fingers into the bears nostrils, which apparently puts them off a bit.

Also many years ago penguins emmigrated to the south pole to avoid being the butt of polar bear jokes.
Everyone knows that.

If you've got the composure to stand your ground and then try to pick the bears nose, you have my deepest respect. I personally would be busily soiling my underwear and screeching a bit.

I've not seen iced twirls. Ice cream Mars Bars and Maltesers I like (in fact, I've got ICMBs in the freezer if you'd like one?).

Actually - a Twirl that was partly milk chocolate, and partly white chocolate...that sounds nice!

Do us a favour will you, and check they are ICMBs and not ICBMs? We wouldn't want your freezer invaded by America as part of the axis of evil.

Ther's that old joke, about a hiker who is told by friends that to scare off grizzly bears you should wear lots of little bells sewn to your clothes, as the noise as you walk irritates them and they run away rather than attack. When he gats to the National Park, a ranger asks him "Why all the little bells?", and the guy explains and the ranger says - "you know how to tell grizzly poo from black bear poo, dontcha?" "No". "Well, the grizzly poo is full of little bells...."

Are we ready to start feeding the bears flapjack now then? Who's brought the bears?

Oh, and I'm up to the head, so nearly there, would be further but realised at 10pm I'd done four rows of knit when it should have been purl, so had to unpick a bit, and decided that was enough for the evening. Still, as it's Wednesday, my crafty friends may have brought in their various crafts, and I've brought my knitting, so I may get a bit more done at lunchtime. I'm hoping it will be more in proportion than the first one, which was a bit tall and spindly. However, as it's only the second one I've done, it may turn out to be more short and fat.... (I have a pattern, but for twice the size, so I'm having to scale down, and it's hard to halve an odd number of stitches...)

Chocolate - check!
Ice cream - check!
Caramelly stuff - check!
Plutonium and other transuranics - No.
Rocket motors - sadly not.

I think I'm in the clear. They're weapons of Mass Creation, as my bathroom scales will attest.

Very sorry to interrupt a discussion on ICBMs, BUT this is a Very Special Message for LOTP.

After preponderating, of-course, he may already have cognisance of the fact that this Thread is rapidly approaching 200 pages and 2000 posts:biggrin:.

It is further noted that the rate of increase is exponential. It took (approx) three months to reach the first 100 pages and 1000 posts, However, it has taken only one month to reach the next one hundred pages and thousand posts.

And it is further noted that at the last "milestone" LOTP was Very Busy
celebrating Christmas, and missed the Happy Occasion. I think we should ensure that this occasion is properly celebrated.

(May I ask the Doctor if he holds the Portfolio for Exponentialiality?)

While you are here, Chuffy, do you have time to make me a toasted cheese sandwich? Thank you kindly. And a pot of strong tea please.

I am beginning to realise that one of the reasons that this thread is heading towards 200 pages, is that everyone is so polite and friedly.
Being polite and considerate obviously takes more time than being off-hand or ignorant.

Reminds me of one occasion when on holiday in Germany, I had to translate between the organiser of the trip and a (Lady) Ticket Inspector on a train trip. The person whose German (and English for that matter) was very poor, asked me to help. Afterwards he said he did not think I had been translating directly from what he said. I did wonder how he knew that as his German was so diabolical. So I explained in might just sound as if it took longer to say. What I did not tell him, was just how many polite expressions I was putting into my version, in order to avoid us all getting booted off the train, because our tickets were not in order. It worked, I am pleased to say. Seventeen people avoided a prolonged wait on a snow-clad station.
