We have the Nicecupofteaandabiscuit book in the Loobrary.

There's a book? Excellent!
*adds to wish list on Amazon*

I can offer recommendations about the dhb shorts as sold on Wiggle, BTW. Took my new pair out for a spin this morning and didn't notice them at all. No adjustments required, no chafing, nada. And the padding isn't too thick and chunky. Nice.
Also chuffed that I'm now below 99 kilos. I's not losing 5 stone yet-a-while but it's all good. Haven't felt this good in years, to be honest. Still slightly in fear of Ventoux though. And Alpe D'Huez, which I seem to have roped myself in for.

If you're roped in for the Alpe D'Huez, surely you can stop pedalling and let the rider in front take the strain?

Cheer mateys.

The Alpe deal is, I have two mates who are doing it (the Kiwi who's given me an Ultegra gruppo, provided I don't damage the frame it's on during removal, and his G/F aka a very close mate) and they've invited me along, help with the drive down there, drive them round the route for a recce, sort of thing. So I'll wave them off in the general direction of the Col de Croix de Fer (which I've seen, but I was on skis at the time) and give the Alpe a go. The Marmotte would be more distance, and more climbing than I've ever done in a day, and could result in a drastic reduction in will to live...

Anyway, I'm gonna go and fit a chain to my new carbon thing. Should get some pictures up soon, so you can all tell me the bars are too high, saddle too low and the bar tape is a worrying shade of green. And so on.
And ask me why the hell I've fitted Sora to a carbon frame, which would be a fair question, TBH.

Laters!
