*inhales steam from Earl Grey, savours citrus notes*

Earl Grey is nothing but heated up perfume! Blecch!

There's situations where heated perfume is quite...stimulating;). Anyway, it's only black tea with the lemon built in.

How's you after the exertions of the last few days anyway? BTW, I've just seen the photos of waffley Minors new bike. I may stop flirting with you and go after him instead ;). That bike is stunning.

yes please!

I would like to announce that yesterday, my nephew Oli had his first fish finger. ;) Well, his Mum peeled the crumb bit off and ate that, coz he hasn't got any teeth yet, but apparently after the first thoughtful mouthful he wolfed the fish down. He seems to be happy to eat anything! He also had a rice cake - gummed it to death I expect. I have a vision now of my sister feeding him all sorts of things experimentally, like when you poke things into a fire to see if they burn...

I am looking forward to TIGER next weekend! Next week is going to be a bit hard at times for various reasons, and the promise of a meet up at the end of it all is going to keep me going! I must try and book some nice weather, so that I can wear my Cyclechat jersey without a coat!

*takes tea* thanks, Landers!
Speicher, I still have some of the Danish biskits left, if you'd like a few? my colleagues are not being so greedy at the moment.

Arch, I thought you'd like that acronym! How's things up in the Frozen North?

Quite mild today, actually. Cloudy, but mild. I'm hoping the current warm spell will kick start my onions, but then again they're giving out a cold snap for the weekend... Really should be getting the first broad beans in - should have had some in before Christmas for an early crop, but hey ho...

*perk* Did someone say Mini-eggs?

I wish I could be organised enough to grow my own veg and stuff - some friends provided me with a full roast dinner once, and the only thing that hadn't come out of their garden was the chicken.

And the wine...

You can do a lot of stuff just using large pots and so on - even just a growbag of tomatoes. Just eating one thing you've grown yourself feels great. Obviously to grow ALL your own veg, that would take a lot of work, but a few really fresh new potatoes, some nice baby broadbeans, some small but packed-with-flavour strawberries...

My allotment ought to be able, apparently, with enough work and planning, to feed a family of four in veg terms. I put in a few hours a week, if that, and so I don't get anything like that, but this year I've been self sufficient in onions, and made a lot of strawberry smoothies, and most years I have courgettes, sweetcorn and broad beans (this year was dud for the courgettes, the weather was wrong). So a tub or two outside the back door, and you could have a few spuds, courgettes, beans, tomatoes, all for the minimal effort of keeping them watered!

I wish you could have seen my face when I looked into the tea caddy this morning and found this!!

At first I thought it was a prototype 'scaffolder's' tea bag but now I think it is more likely to be a novel-tea bow tie?
Where is LOTTP when you need him?
