Thank you Waffles! xx( My absolute favourite. It makes me think of my late ma, I couldn't eat it for a long time without crying. I really should learn how to make it.

Oh sorry, didn't realise anyone else wanted some. *burp*

You couldn't put the next batch into the oven, Waffles, could you?
Although I'm equally partial to gooseberry pie and custard.
BOTH please!

Argh crumble, that's fantastic, being spoilt with all this amazing stuff handed out. Yes all with some tea. Quite pleasant weather tonight is it not?

Evenings! And yes, Waffles, I'd love some crumble. Rhubarb crumble is amongst the finest of things.

@ Mickle - the rhubarb you can just stew gently in some sugar. You'll need to add enough to suit your own taste. Peel your rhubarb, cut into chunks about an inch long, get them in a pan over a very low heat, add some sugar and check every so often. It's done when it falls to bits.
Crumble mix - a flour:butter:sugar ratio of 4:2:1 should work. Either rub it all in, or whizz in a blender for a minute or so. You're aiming for a texture that looks like breadcrumbs.
Then, get an oven proof dish. Rhubarb in, crumble mix on top, in the oven at 200 degrees or gas 6 or so till it's golden brown - maybe 20 mins?
Jobs a good'un.
Make custard according to the pack. If you use instant, just-add-boiling-water custard you are going to that special corner of hell reserved for people who think WD40 is a chain lube.

Maybe just a wafer thin mint.
Damn, you're back. I was looking forward to avenging your death.

Can't top the crumble but I do have an ample supply of radishes fresh from the garden.

Mr Wafflycat is insisting more be made. He's had seconds, wants thirds and as I was hoping for some decent ahh.. *reward* I may be disappointed, just having to hoist him up to bed later, due to his immobility due to crumble overload.

Gooseberries... Did someone mention gooseberries? A good gooseberry cobbler is one of the finest puddings known to humanity.. I am tempted to go into cook mode.

Silly girl. Reward first, pudding after.
