I'm gasping for a cuppa! Got a horrible taste of fish in my mouth!

Mornings!
Just made a fresh one here, and had an excellent ride into work. It's a bit overkill to commute in on a carbon bike, but what the heck. It looks a bit out of place in the bike shed at work surrounded by all the BSOs ...

Bonjour, denizens of Tea?

I'm back. Only briefly today, as I'm at work and we're getting ready for the York rally and finishing off the latest magazine mailing.

France was wonderful. Although they don't understand Tea over there. Rather than look too English, I reverted to Chocolat Chaud with my breakfast and pastries most days, which led on one day to a momentous event - The Day Archer Decided She'd Had Enough Chocolate. I had had cocopops, a pain au chocolat, hot chocolate (breakfast), hot choc and another pain au chocolat for 11ses, and a hot choc again mid afternoon. Fortunately, after a chocolate free dinner and brekkie I was back on form the next day by mid morning...

But, cultural beverage differences aside, what a wonderful place France is to cycle. Quiet roads, respectful drivers, friendly little bar/tabacs for coffee stops, great value hotels, mostly with excellent restaurants.

And we had a go on a velo-rail. Pics up next week I hope...

It's good to be home though. Three weeks is about my limit for living out of panniers before I really feel the need to be in my own bed, and not moving on the next day...

Sounds like it was a good trip. Slightly perterbed by the notion of Too Much Chocolate - it was news to me such a thing was possible...

I was pretty surprised myself! It was like - well, a couple of days before we'd had a salad at lunch with a rather garlicy dressing, and you know how in that situation you can still taste garlic for a while, even if you clean your teeth, suck mints etc? Well, I'd got like that, only with chocolate.

But I recovered pretty swiftly. Next day, when the lady serving our lunch told us that one of the desserts was chocolate mousse, everyone burst out laughing, but I chose it anyway...

So, what's been going on while I've been away? Not sure I'll be able to catch up with the whole tea thread!

Have you noticed that when you eat too much chocolate, your stools (turds, not chairs) are, er, really brown?

Arch,
If you have noticed this, we really, really don't want to know.
That's far too much information.
Guinness has that effect on me, though...
