Believe this I cannot. :angry:

No one likes my cake, home made yesterday, Chocolate cake with fresh cream, I will have to eat all myself then, you know how quickly home made cakes go stale. :angry::angry:

<rushes in, out of breath>

Is there any left?

It's very quiet here, Oli and his Mum and Dad went home yesterday, and we are missing his chattering and ambling about the house. He was very well behaved and hardly fractious at all - an angel as ever. The best bit was when he pulled the paper off his pressie from Granny Dot - an early learning centre garage - the sort of thing with chunky toy cars, a lift and a twirly ramp. He'd played with one at a friend's house and as soon as the paper was off and he saw the picture on the box he just stood there nodding like mad and saying "yes! yes! yes!" and pointing at it. I've never seen him so excited about a present before he actually had it to play with. But he was very patient while we got it out and put together. He also liked pulling the cabin off the Ark (held on by velcro) and distributing the animals within - especially the giraffes, since the neck is just the right size to get his hand round.

I've just dragged my mother into the 21st century by setting her up on gmail, and she also now has a digital box for the telly, so she's more advanced than I am!

Back in York tomorrow, so I reckon I'll catch up online properly on Tuesday. Until then, hope everyone is having a good time!

Depends how much Arch scoffed delicately helped herself to. :angry:

I obviously did not make enough cake. There was a very genteel debate about how many layers a cake should have. I made a sponge mix with three eggs and their weight in flour, sugar, butter, (yes Butter) etc, and divided into two cake tins approx 7 inches in diameter. Would you prefer your cake in two layers or three, three giving perhaps more whipped cream in the middle? :angry: This is a very important topic for you to give consideration.

Bleergh :ohmy:
Over-ate & Over-Drank (I know it's Christmas) hugely and feel I have undone any benefit I may have gained these past few months as a cyclist reborn. My legs are also hurting Today like they did in September, so looks like I might have to make a gradual restart to my cycling in 2009. The Home Counties ride is supposed to be next weekend too :smile: No way I could consider 60 miles or anything resembling it in this condition...

Have a satsuma instead. :smile: I am sure I have read on the Health and Fitness thread, that after a break of what? a week? you should regain fitness more much more quickly than the rate at which you had to work to improve your fitness from zero as it were. I hope you are surprised how quickly you get back to where you were just before Christmas.

Don't think it will be a huge problem Speich but am wondering why my quads are suddenly hurting. Haven't done many weekend rides for the past 4 weeks and haven't been on the bike at all since Monday (just 11 miles) :smile:

Perhaps all finely tunes athletes get this way after a few days off? :ohmy:
