Thank you Domtyler for the ginger pudding and custard - one of my favourites, you can have another bathe in warm glow now.

While I was gone, I popped into "Freecycle" to find someone wanted to get rid off boxes of Collectable Dinkies cars like Walkers vans. She said if they were not collected tonight, they would go in the bin .

So I replied to her to say I could collect them from her, and take them to a local Children's Hospice Charity Shop. I chose that one, as I know they have various people in to value things like that so they are not sold at silly low prices. LOTP you have mentionned your collection of model cars in the past, surely they are worth something. What would you estimate, some would be worth more than others if they did not make so many of a particular model. To collect them this evening would be a 15 mile round trip, its got to be worth that? I would imagine at least £1.00 each? or more? She did not say how many there were, she is just desperate to get rid of them.

Depends on age, condition and if they are boxed. Unless some one at the charity shop knows of the potental value it might be a waste of time? Some can be worth 100's of GBPounds

Just re-read your post and noticed that the charity shop has specialised people in to value items. In that case it is most certainly worth going to collect the models

Yes, if I only have to drive 15 miles, I am sure it must be "cost-effective".
It may be of-course that someone else wants them to keep them and she has the right (and correctly so) to decide who receives them. I take it that you have heard of "Freecycle" ? it has been mentionned on other threads, it is a bit like E-bay, but no money changes hands, and it is based on giving/receiving stuff on a local basis. It can be found at Freecycle.org then you choose your country, county and town etc.
