Yes, it was. I could never work out what the exchange rate was...

Spikes - you was gazumped by Waffles!

Maybe it was like Mornington Crescent, and there wasn't really a system at all.

Bizarrely, over in email land today, I was discussing with a friend whether he could hide his <ahem> modesty behind a tea bag. I suggested not. I felt it was the polite thing to say (not having seen the <ahem> modesty in question).

Mind you, after a cold shower, maybe....
It would depend on the size of the teabag. I have a picture of my modesty hidden by a pair of shades and a cut out smiley mouth. It is not fit for human consumption.

Tea cosy/hat/trust analogy.

When a man(or woman) is alone, he has no audience but himself, therefore, when he tries the teacosy on as a hat, he is not 'acting the goat' for the benefit of anyone but himself, neatly ruling out his ego from our supposition. Our subject, therefore, is making a fool of himself for his own amusement and does not take himself too seriously - or indeed seriously at all.

It's just a pet theory of mine, but one with mileage (in my humble opinion.)

Anyone been caught wearing a cosy as a hat - whilst genuinely you thought you were alone?

I have - by Mrs515mm's mum

Quick, get that man a research grant! I'll happily wear a tea-cosy with or without an audience. I am in touch with my inner Compo.

I am sorry to have missed your timely invitation to take the honour of the 2000th post. In my defence I would say that I was engaged with the outside world. Talking to someone seriously injured recently, who needs help in his work, organising bedding, clothes and household items for the homeless, at a Shelter in Worcestershire. If I offer my assistance, it would be accordingly to my ability to help, and at my own pace. I don't mind a challenge but cannot respond at the speed of light (tho' perhaps the Doctor could provide instruction on that subject). He seems extremely grateful, and it would be something constructive I could organise from home, using my garage as a transitory storage point.

Also Chuffy, you are aware of Freecycle. Today someone posted on the local group that they wanted to get a lizard for their son. I remarked on this in "Ponderings" as to whether this was a fair swap ;)but received no reply.

I am the only person of my acquaintance who likes Steven Seagal;).
May I ask why you chose him as your Avatar? Please be aware that I am known on here for having a fondness for Captains. It was a certain one in particular, but he seems to be stuck somewhere between Sweden and Brazil, and out of reach ;) of a computer. What rank was Mr Seagal in "Under Siege"?
