Perhaps he's got piles (of donuts)? ;)

Thank you for the donut Doctor, how did you stop Arch getting the last one?

I was hiding it somewhere she wouldn't look. Sorry if it's a bit squashed.

Thanks also for your kind offer of help. I think the best thing I can do is just trundle along at my own pace. There are at least two forummers nearby (ish) but the help I need at the moment is not really cycle related. I think what would help most at the moment is just doing what I can, when I can, without being put under any pressure whatsoever, particularly from family members.
My Chiropractor is very understanding the problems I have, and she is under considerably less pressure than the GP, so she has time to explain things and the options in a easy-to-understand way.

Often just the offer is helpful in itself.

Blimey, you have no idea how thorough I would be if I was really looking for a doughnut.

I showed your knitted thing to a friend at lunchtime (she was the first recipient of one), and her husband commented that it looked a bit phallic. He has a bit of a point. So apologies in advance for that.

And its the first one I've had to send in a brand new jiffy bag, up to now I've had a stock of reused ones...

Any more tea? I'm suddenly feeling a bit low for no reason I can make out.

I've come in here to be cheered up.

Oh, are all the doughnuts gone?

In a bizarre mix of real and cyber worlds, my colleague has just refused the real doughnut I bought for him. I can therefore bash it one with the sonic screwdriver *whiiir* and it disappears from our table in the office *foomp* and magically appears in the Tea? thread *chank* and then I can pass it to Arch!

Oh, BTW, Doctor, it's in the post.

Hoorah!

Um, can you lend me the sonic screwdriver - to unmash the doughnut a bit? I think bashing it one didn't do it so much good.

Not that I'm not grateful. I'll happily eat a doughnut in crumb form. Does away with all that messy sugar round the chops stuff, and deciding whether to try and eat it without licking your lips and all that.

No, not piles the size of doughnuts, just piles of doughnuts he did not know he had? BTW is there something wrong with your keyboard, LOTP, your replies seem exceedingly short these days. Is your keyboard on strike?

*offers Arch mug of tea*

*and carrot cake*

I'm sorry, in the virtual doughnut excitement, I forgot my manners. Thank you. Nice cake! The thing about carrot cake is, it's cake, but it's also a portion of fruit and vegetables.

Arch, try putting a post on Freecycle for jiffy bags. I was "daft" enough to offer lots of jiffy bags some time ago, and got inundated with e-mails from people wanting them. Now I just wait for someone local to say they would like some rather than wade thru dozens of e-mails. I wonder if it is cheaper for me to post a lot of jiffy bags, they are very light.

Some one brought me a raspberry and cream victoria sponge this afternoon, but I am in no condition to carry it anywhere, except into my lounge on a plate.:blush::biggrin:

That's a good idea. I'll have to see how many more knitted animals are required. Also a friend of mine says she has loads if I want some.

Felt really odd, writing an address on a pristine jiffybag, and not sticking a label on over the 8 previous labels...

And my friend said, as I was buying it at the post office, I could pick it, write on it, fill it and pay for it at the counter, rather than queue twice. Felt a bit odd, writing on an envelope I hadn't paid for yet. It would have been so easy not to tell the lady behind the counter, and get away with it. But being English, I couldn't do that...

Can I offer you a hand with it?
