Does look a lot better for a clean and a lick of paint, but they need to sort out their signage.
Certainly whisks me through to Croydon (for work) a lot more efficiently. Not sure if that's a good thing though...

Is that the new Thameslink station? I've used Thameslink to get to Gatwick a few times. That was before I stopped flying within Europe. I could try to claim the environmental high ground here, but it's just because I really like trains, and I really dislike planes.

Ah, KC is from York, that was from Leicester, so it was St Pancras. I am hoping I'll get down there soon to see the new station complex....

Haven't been to London for months. Want to get down to see the Terracotta Army sometime..[/quote]

I think, but not 100% sure, that this exhibition has now sold out

That's the one. I'm only there on an infrequent basis, and the first time I needed to use it the escalators spat me out facing the wrong way, with no signs pointing me to it. Result? I make it all the way to the old Kings Cross Thameslink only to find a note on the door saying it's shut. Grumble my way back to St P's and then have to walk ALL the way back through the station with plenty of signs to help me on my way to Paris and beyond but none pointing out the bl**dy Thameslink! Which is now called First Capital Connect anyway... Grr

I have seen the future of transport and it is turgid!

I am travelling to Sheffield from St. Pancs(from where I have not long returned from reserving my bike space)so sadly Dr. I will not be passing thru St. Ephenage on this trip. I will be going up to Darlington in a further few weeks so you will have a chance to wave then.

St. Ephenage is no mystery to me as I used to work there in the mid 80's and would frequent The Red Lion pub in the old town.

For all those on a big grrrr about the trains etc. I suggest a listen to this weeks 'File On Four' on the BBC Radio 4 listen again iplayer thingy.

Grrr, tea and The News Quiz for me now!

The Red Lion is about a 5 minute walk from me. I do, however, go past other pubs to get there, including Wetherspoons, which is where Lloyds Bank was in the 80s.

Now, I'm not going to be here for a coupe of days, going to visit Mum, because my sister and baby Oli are staying with her for a while, and it's a good opportunity to all meet up. I've left a packet of Chocolate digestives in the cupboard for you to share while I'm away. Play nicely, won't you?
