Thank you for the tea, LOTP. I hope you read the messages that were posted just after the 4000th post. Did you imagine it would run this long.

I think The Doctor and Wafflycat are meeting today.

Evening!
And you are indeed correct. Waffles and I had a lovely ride. It went on for a lot longer than I'd expected, but was seriously enjoyable. I was hugely impressed with her stamina. At times I thought she'd struggle to reach the pinnacle, but she always did, and in fine style. I'd love a repeat performance with her sometime soon. Given the chance, I'd like to try her 'bent. That would be well worth seeing! I'm currently persuading Pam to try a 'bent too.

Photos may be available later - Waffles Minor was on hand with a camera.

Hey matey! *manly hug*

Well, Waffles has a bent trike (ICE IIRC), but she was on her old Bianchi today. 3 peeps and 3 bikes clustered in and around one of those A-Series things, I suppose the trike wouldn't fit. I had a try of a 'bent bike, and nearly stacked it repeatedly. They're a bit twitchy.
But trikes...*wants* We'll go to D-Tek soon and try some out for Pam.
What's your one? KMX, was it?

Yeah KMX, very basic, cheap and quite clunky.
'Bents are quite twitchy by nature, and being closer to the ground can make that feel more alarming.

I still have a chain length issue to sort out on the trike and I haven't had a moment to sort it out of late.

So a good time with Waffles & Co then? Did you go out to Norfolk then?

Indeed so. Started off at Mike Burrows workshop (we're not worthy!) which is just east of Norwich and went ...erm... east, I think. I don't know that part of East Anglia at all. Leisurely kind of ride, with more bents than you could shake a stick at. I'd expected to like Waffles in real life, and I certainly did. Her family are a laugh too - seriously jealous of her sons Cervelo. 'Slovely.
Will1985 was there too, so three forum members that I know of, and two denizens of Tea?.

Per ardua ad astra BTW!

WTF?
Wossat in English, or alternative modern-day language?

It's OK - I just Googled it.Through adversity to the Stars, apparently. Having been trained by the RAF, I'm slightly embarrassed not to have known it.

RAF motto that I thought of today when I thought of you waiting to hear from Astrium.

It's latin, for 'Through Struggles To The Stars' kinda appropriate?

Also meant to type it as 'Per Ardua Ad Astrium' not that it would have made any more sense.

Right, let's see if someone else can meet up before the twelfth. Arch should be joining us - I happen to know she has tickets and bike bookings. I have personally checked the Tea? venue of choice for qualitea of drinks and comestibles.

Per Ardua Ad Astrium - Through adversity to Astrium!
Like it, mate, like it.

*waves hello* Just a brief visit and sorry if I stole anyone's thunder with that inspirational posting to reach 4000 last night ahem I was very very very drunk last night... *takes care not to mention the rugby*

Anyway this thread is the most fun on any forum ever. I bet his lordship never thought it would come to this. It is almost an institution in itself, an encapsulation of the whole of cakestop the cafe if not the forum. I liked reading that today the Doc and Wafflycat met up through it. One day I would like to think that we can all meet up

OK - where do you live? Get the scones in, and we're there!

It would be great to all meet up, possibly around the Mother Of All Cakestands. The thing I like about this thread is the lack of abuse, malice, or any real question it's designed to answer. It just fills the need for tea and a natter.
