Don't remember, TBH. It was quite some time ago. I do remember being miffed that a work colleague got his mortgage sorted quicker than we did. And he had to find a house, sell a house. move and everything.

Time for stage two of the caravan cottage, connecting the caravan to the toilet shed so's no more nipping out in the rain to answer nature in the night!
Lots of angle grinding and whizzy blades to get this job completed!

Wow, that's quite some project! But I love the... well, excuse the phrase, and no offence meant, but, the bodginess of it. Like get a caravan, and weld a shed to it....

The long term plan is to sink and concrete in six telegraph poles around the caravan and built a timber frame 2 bed house onto that, eventually cutting the caravan away altogether!
As we are still saving for the big build(maybe next year?!)we are making the most of of what we have to hand all wood, windows etc. will be reused in the main build, which includes another story above the caravan.
The aim is to have as neutral an impact on the environment and a seemingly 'temporary' structure to get around the planning regs.
And it's not bodginess, it's called 'Ghetto-fixing'

That is a neat plan. If we're ever in Ireland at the same time, I'll have to scoot over and take a look. I can kind of visualise this, but I'd like to see it.

We had originally thought about building a hay bale house but it really isn't the climate(we know people who have had trouble with theirs because of just how damp the area is).

Not so much about "cookery" but how people get their food if they live in "dangerous" places."

What's the nearest town or village? I know the N71 from Cork to Skibbereen, and I then peel off to Baltimore or Schull for a ferry to Cape. I've been across to Killarney, but not for some years.
