I know of someone who was in a club, and a mate had a diabetic episode, and when they asked what to do the mate managed to say "sugary drink..." so this guy ran off and came back with a Pepsi Max.

Never mind, it's the thought that counts...

Doesn't sound as if there was so much thought going on!
Bless.
That was a low blood sugar thing, I'm guessing? Like the mother of all bonks?
Not nice. Only had that happen once, many years ago.

And that is why it's so big and important now, because the damp conditions were ideal for cotton and wool spinning (too dry and the fibres snap easily). Hence Manchester's (and Lancashire's generally) huge Victorian wealth.

I was there for a week (also OU at UMIST) and it did rain every day. Mostly just a shower, but yes, rain every day.

Ok Doc, I can get up a hill for a cafe, no trouble! And thanks, I try that line on my Mum. "No, It's fine, that guy off the interent, he's been vouched for by some other woman off the internet". Maybe not...

Ah, Mr Hargreaves and his spinning Jenny:smile:

I could have included the US club, The Detroit Spinners, but then the jerseys would only have wangy collars!

Were you going for a 'spin' tonight Renard?
I am one of life's unfortunate and very sweaty people, if I were to go to spin class I would most likely melt!

Evenings!
Just got back from a CTC evening ride, the sort that stops and supports local commercial organisations that have log fires and real ale. First decent ride on the new carbon uberbike.
Dear oh lord, that thing is good. Either that or I'm on the form of my life. Whatever. A steep draggy hill that I normally do in bottom gear, I did in the middle ring, out of the saddle and accelerating.
*mile wide grin*

Off for a bath now, I'm a bit cold, and two pints of London Pride aren't warming me up. Much...

I'm going to try to get 30 miles in tomorrow to make up for the rest of the week. I feel like a right lazy fop at the mo. *tsk*

Anyhow, Goodnight to you all, until the next sunrise..................
