ooh, ta. I am requiring of soothing tea as I'm still all excited about my hens and the eggs they are producing.

I'm not surprised, I'd be over the moon.

Have you been singing "Hey little hen" to them?

Lot of chatter in here over the weekend I see - although the music stuff goes over my head abit. I do have a mate who works as a recycling picker upper, and she's amassing a collection of free-with-the-paper DVDs... And potted plants, and other useful stuff...

My mum came up for the day yesterday, after she'd gone I had to go and lie down in the quiet - she can't half talk. S'pose that's where I get it from!

Tea anyone? Drank a lot of that over the weekend, more than usual...

Ms tdr1nka & I did the school run by bike this morning in spite of impending rain and the new 'please pass slow & wide' bib seemed to keep the cars at bay! Hoorah!

One so far. Produced by Anode. Saw her do it!

She has no manners. She will drop one anywhere. Did this in the middle of the run whilst she was eating. Cathode, on the other hand, seems to be quite prim & proper, as yesterday she retired into the hen house, made a wee nest-like depression in the straw and laid her egg there.

I had the idea of lining the floor of the run with bubble wrap to cusion the fall of the eggs but then realised there would be lots of 'popping' noises as they pecked their food!!

I'm thinking of putting down some nice shagpile carpet. That should provide them with a bit of comfort.
