mickle

innit
*Creak of door* darkness...
[echo] Hello? ...... hello? ......[echo]
*flicks lightswitch*.... single overhead flourescent tube flashes into action then settles down to a hum.

Hmm. Spots kettle. Cups left to drain on the rack are still damp, the kettle has a residual warmth. *click*

The room has a cozy feel, like a clubroom or common room. Wanders over to coffee table which is surrounded by sofas and easy chairs. *click* turns on the reading lamp beside an Eames chair in the corner. Turns off the main light on the way back to the boiling kettle. Fumble around in cupboard.
Tetleys tea bags catering box, hmm. A beaten up old caddy half full loose earl Gray. White tea. Green tea. Several boxes of assorted fruit tea bags. Silver leaf tea, empty box, chucks it in the recycling box. At the back under a split bag of demarera sugar, result! a box of Chai tea bags, one left, into a big mug.
The light of the fridge illuminates a solitary pecan pastry. It stays where it is, someone will be looking forward to eating that.

An Eames chair? in here? shrugs. Settles down with steaming mug. On the coffee table; the latest Velovision, Road Bike Action (featuring the Ferrari Colnago), a dog-eared copy of Zinn, a Pashley brochure. Picks up A to B magizine.

Sips tea.

Someone'll be along in a minute....

Hello! You two been sitting here since midnight?

Tea anyone? I've got a busy morning forumming ahead of me before I get a call from Admin to say he's on the edge of town for our jersey handover meet. Looks like he's planned to come into York on the most complicated route possible, so I hope he doesn't need talking in. I think I'll say "Aim for the Minster...." - it's the tallest thing around and a good place to meet. Although when I came past this morning, it was being guarded by Ghurkas...

What do you expect if the locals keep on telling tourists to aim for it?

Fair point. I suspect there might be a British Legion do on there today, there were a bunch of soldiers hanging about. And yesterday we had the 21 gun salute for the Queens birthday, just the other side of the wall from where I'm sitting now...

Tea's up!

*slurp*

Betty's big day eh? Is that the biological one or the state one? I get the day off work for the one in May :becool: I never realised I was such an ardent royalist!

Queens real birthday was yesterday. State birthday (Trooping the Colour) is in June. So I dunno what you've been skiving off for in May.

Mickle, yeah, it's a busy busy media world. But the boss is great, and sometimes buys cheese straws or flapjacks for the office....

You ever been to our office, BTW?

Sounds like above-par organisation by our usual standards!

Ellooooooo!

Where's the tea?

Arch is this the jersey going north or south?

Well today it's going due West.

I dunno if it has an aim. From me it goes to Leeds (more west). I suppose it's better placed to work up to Scotland than the other one, which I thik User76 has down south. So probably both jerseys are going North!
