Cheers Col, sling one in here!
*puts mug on the table*

We'd have chickens in our garden but there so many foxes and cats round our way the poor chooks wouldn't get a moments peace.

I cant have any at home, our yard is very small,so no distance from the back windows of us or our nieghbours, terraced house you see,so i think the noise might be an issue for me.
A four pack of chocolate eclairs LTTP?Well three now slurp.first come first served:smile:

Wish we could keep chickens... Fox's would eat 'em

What? You wish you had chickens so the foxes could eat them!

Just got home after a long morning's work (minimal worm death today! ;)), enjoying a cuppa Tetley's (100 bags from Poundland for a quid - only got about 40 left), and planning a 2-3 hour ride this arvo!

*Hens* aren't noisy. Cockerels are very noisy. You don't require a cockerel for hens to lay eggs, either. Nor do hens require *much* space. hens and backyards work very well together

As for foxes and other predators: easily resolved. I've got galvanised mesh under the entire run - that combined with the wire of the run/hen house means chooks stay safe inside and potential predators stay *out*

My yard is seriously small, peoples front rooms are bigger, and with nieghbours windows closer than a close thing,i still wouldnt feel comfortable with them,;)
