I went on a tour of a colliery pit head once, and the miner leading the party said that the canaries didn't die when they detected gas, they just fainted. If they were hoiked back to the surface quick enough, and given a puff of oxygen, they recovered and were retired (on full 'pay' of seed) and never had to go down again. Which I like the idea of...

You can see, I know nothing about keeping birds. I gave it a box with shredded paper in and realised afterwards that I was expecting it to be like a hamster and wanting to burrow if it felt stressed... D'oh! Still, I must have looked after it ok, it was much perkier when I handed it over than when we first picked it up...

Yep.

I think I passed but I don't think I set the world alight.

Thankfully, I averaged 90% on my laboratory practicals throughout the 2nd semester so when that has been taken into account and added to today's exam, I should get a comfortable pass overall.

I seem to do much better at the practical side of things rather than the theory for some strange reason.;)
