Ok, well, I'm getting (somewhat belatedly) an bit of a Led Zeppelin education today. Clicking on stuff and going "Oh, it's THAT tune..."

I am woefully under educated in the music department...

Led Zeppelin: British folk combo who made huge success 'borrowing' from the Blues.

Ralph McTell!
Now if you wanted the streets of London, you only had to ask.

When I got a guitar, it was one of the first things I learnt to play, to make my sister laugh, because of a Victoria Wood sktech in which these social worker musicians kept playing it at gigs for OAPs.

"Where do you go to my lovely" at the moment... Oh yes it is...

Pah! Ralph was/is an extremely talented blues guitarist who got saddled with a MOR reputation because of the success of *that* song. If you ever get the chance to go and see him, you should, as you'd be very pleasantly surprised.

Plus he did two great kid's series "Alphabet Soup" and "Tickle on the Tum" - subversive or what

I think perhaps Waffly was referring to the slightly ambiguous nature of the phrase 'on Ralph McTell'. Or perhaps not. Either way, now I do need the brain bleach. You're right though, I've heard some of his other stuff, it's good.

I've stopped playing the link game, I got entrenched in Led Zeppelin, so I'm just randomly searching for songs I like. I toyed with Carly Simon and now I'm on Tracy Chapman...

I hope that was not a dig at led zep up there.

Not a dig as such, but for those of us who enjoy Led Zep without all the beards, bellies, denim jackets with sqiggley patches and religious zeal, it is a fair summery for the uninitiated.

Still, mustn't 'ramble on'.....

Very true.

And don't get me wrong, I enjoy and rate Led Zepp highly but I just can't do the worshipping thing.

Then again I did have all enduring love of Zepplin quoshed when I was 17 and ended up, quite unexpectedly, having a huge stand up row with Robert Plant on account of him behaving like a tw*t.
