Well played Arch on the multiple layers thing!

The problem is that tricky moment between wearing loads of daytime layers in bed and going to bed properly in night clothes. I'm very good at undressing/dressing quickly. Also, I remember to hang whatever I'm getting into in front of the fan heater to warm it up a bit.

I have a duvet, a quilt and a throw on my bed too.

The dotty old British in India had small shotguns they used for shooting dragonflies, about pistol size .22 smoothbore. Would one of those deal with a spider?
I'm prepared to find out! ;)
TAXI! take me to the nearest Son Of The Empire supply emporia post haste!

3 layers on bed covers sounds too hot for me but each to their own and I guess I have more natural insulation then the average bear ;)

*Hands out Hot Chocolate to all*
*Hands out an ice cream to Arch to cool her down*

Hot choc again, thank you.

Talking of creepy crawlies and things. The local college is looking for people to support students with disabilities on their courses. Most of these courses are on things like Recycling, Conservation, Horticulture, Tractor Driving, Computer Studies etc. One of the courses is on Animal Care: Rabbit, guinea pigs, etc etc fine, rats eh ? and reptiles.;)

I think I can safely assume that crocodiles are not likely to be involved, but what others are there commonly in animal care, bearing in mind students with disabilities (either learning disabilities, or physical disabilities)?

Lizards I quite like, they don't bite do they.

BTW Arch for many and complicated reasons, I did not apply for that job at the Environment Centre.

Yes, it was, I have got one already, mine was 99p as well.

Also got various choc mugs, Toblerone, Mars Bar, BNIB as pressies for people who are fans of choc. My cats were very clever, they went into a shop and bought me a Paddington Bear Mug.

Is there any tea on the go?

Our dog eats spiders.

I don't like big spiders much, but I like the thought of eating them even less.

Anyway (changing the subject rapidly), tea, anyone?

The cats eat the spiders too. So will the hens. It's disconcerting to see a small domestic feline, chomping away with relish, as long, still wriggling, arachnid legs stick out from the side of the feline mouth...

Bear in mind I'm in a flat with no double glazing and no heating except for the fan heater, which I don't want on while I'm asleep for fire safety reasons. There is one wall mounted storage heater, but experience has shown it to be fairly useless.

Speicher - snakes are popular as pets I think. I think lizards might bite, if provoked, but only then. And there're gekkos and cameel... cameal... those colour changy ones....

Mmmm milk 'n' two (brown sugar) please

Electric heaters and no double glazing Arch... sounds like you need a lot of cuppas and a lot of jumpers!

I need something.... hmm - Swiss rolls and Jaffa Cakes for dinner! ;)
