Can I join Chuffy in the work-related rant:angry:xx(. I was promised something at 3pm which has still not materialised. So, do I hang around hoping it will arrive sometime soon or take a risk and come in early tomorrow:sad::becool:. I'm drowning my sorrows with tea and malt loaf.

They've just had the decency to phone to tell me it won't be ready anytime soon so I'm heading home. I hate early starts though:sad:.

I could add to that list for today

getting better after my cold
wrote more Christmas cards
Put away shopping from Tesco - ordered on-line
altering the plastic bracket bought yesterday, to replace a "lost" one, and re-arranging said cupboard, now that I can fit more into it.
Not getting a letter regarding an interview I was expecting
keeping ear to the ground re finding a job
looking out for recycling opportunities

discussing with a shop keeper why I do not think I should buy his Christmas train set in the window for £35. It's a long story, I said how nice it was, thinking it was not for sale.

Persuading a small cat to go outside/come back inside/not climb the curtains

Need to sit down just thinking about it?

BTW do ducks sit on down?

I am half Duck, Half Flamingo (my fathers side) so I dont sit... rather I stand one-legged

Thats a very good account of your day's exploits Speicher. Advice RE: shopkeers... don't assume that things in their window are not for sale  Could have been a rather tricky parting with 35 quid if you had of been weeker-willed. I mean how come you didn't think it was for sale

So hows the job hunting in general then, you using online site mainly or...?

I thought it was the sort of thing shops put in the window, to make it look Festive and that they would keep it from one year to the next. He did not seem to mind too much that I did not want to buy it. I expect he knows that in mid-January, some one will decide they really like it.

I am looking for a part-time job locally, without too much stress. I keep a close eye on the web-sites for the Local County Council, Colleges, etc. I do not want to register with an Agency yet, as I need to build up my work skills again after some years away from work. I have worked through an Agency before, and expect it is still the same in that you have to turn up and work in a busy office, and know what you are doing without much guidance. The job I was hoping to get an interview for, was at a local college supporting students with disabilities, or learning difficulties. I have ten years experience in that area, and am surprised not to get an interview.

Keep at it... maybe the letter is en-route but the Royal Mail are a bit slow at the mo. Can't imagine why with Christmas only a week away

Good luck too for the job and let us know how you get on won't you?
