I will be going out in the sunshine and fresh air for a walk on the Malverns, followed by the wonderful Hot choc at a Cafe there. :tongue:

Sounds good that, have fun :biggrin:

I'm procrastinating and drinking tea. Was going to get the train north but have been offered a lift and am waiting to be picked up. I'm also ignoring the housework :tongue:.

Good morning all. Well I start this New Year with a New Lady in my life and a bad throat. (The two are NOT connected). I have a hardish cycle ride planned for tomorrow so I shall spend today resting up and getting well. Hope everyone is doing well. Happy 2009 :tongue:

Happy New Year all! A bit late, but I couldn't get onto a computer yesterday.

<hands out tea>

It's freezing in here, I have one heater going, but it's not doing much. And I can't type in gloves....

<sits with hands round mug for a bit>

Just had avian fun. At this time of year the hens have a long night without food, so I usually give them some sort of food treat, just before it gets to their time where they wander into the henhouse for the night, to keep them going through a cold night. This evening it was warm, cooked pearl barley. They absolutely adore it (I hate it - it stinks). Cathode will literally jump/fly up to my waist height which is the level I carry the bowl of barely at, and she sticks her head in the bowl and pinches it even before I get as far as putting it in their feeding bowls. Poor Anode, who is distinctly *down* as she is going through a full moult, perks up enough to offer a few excited clucks as I put it in the bowls and then she tucks in. It'll help give them the energy to keep warm all night long.

Been running round all afternoon and finally sat down with a cuppa. Christmas decorations are down and lots of housework done. Phew!

The creatures sharing Chateau Wafflycat bring much happiness. Each has its own distinct personality with quirks that cause varying degrees of hilarity.

I know that feeling all so well. Although I only have cats at the moment I have had MANY animals companions in my life. All have brought me joy :-)

Most of my Christmas decorations have been down, and then put back up. :smile:

Tasha (two, feline) decided she did not like my arrangement of decorations on the lower branches of the tree, so gradually removed them, where upon I put them back on the tree, but much higher up. This does not meet with her approval, she pushed the tree over on New Year's Eve. :smile::smile: She also did not like my fluffy white stuff, at the bottom of the tree and rearranged that into a sort of scrunched up bed. :ohmy:
