Morning all! No warmer today, but I remembered to bring in my fingerless gloves to type in...

Tea anyone?, I'll put the kettle on...

Hee hee. Ever heard a carrot scream?

I've heard a beetroot scream actually, I put one through my hand powered juicer once and it made the most dreadful squealing noise, I couldn't bring myself to do it again (also there wasn't much juice).

Arch, I would like to tell you about my latest recycling idea. I have lots of A5 leaflets to keep, but they will not go in a bookcase, because then you cannot read the titles, as they have no spines. So they need to go in a box and face forward to flick through to find the one you want.

I was about to put the cardboard type of bottle holder, the ones that hold four bottles, into recycling. Instead, I cut off the handle bit of the bottle holder and it is the right size and shape for the leaflets. I can hear you thinking, yes even from this distance, that will not be very stable. Yes, but you use the cardboard from the handle and Pritstick it into place in the base of the bottle holder to provide structural integrity.

Mucho brownie points. ;)

I get it - well done! There's nothing so satisfying as finding a use for something.

I got a mug for xmas (on it, is printed "I JUST NEED A LITTLE LOVE NOW AND THEN, BUT CHOCOLATE WILL DO FOR NOW") and it came in a plastic box (with a couple of choccies and some hot choc powder and a little whisk) with a nice printed card background (sort of gold scrolls on red). So I've saved the bit of card to use for something decorative, at some stage.
