Woohoo! Apple slice!

Also woo hoo! I have my Galaxy frame back. It's been powdercoated in with a batch for BikeRescue, and it's been a while getting sorted (mind you, it was all stripped down for a couple of years prior to that anyway). I chose claret, but it's come back more like scarlet, so they are getting that batch free! And they haven't charged me for putting in the headset and BB. So I'm paying nothing!:biggrin::biggrin:

Now, the fiddly bit - a fine brush, a pot of gold Humbrol, a steady hand and lining the lugs. Then Andy will lacquer it for me, and I can build it up. Might stick with the old parts for now, but eventually I'll probably choose parts to tone in and upgrade - see what I can pick up at York Rally.

Just what I need, another bike!

I think my honey coloured Brooks is going to look swell with it.

When/where's that being held, Arch?

Um... York...

20th and 21st June, Knavesmire Racecourse.

http://www.ctc.org.uk/desktopdefault.aspx?tabid=4377

Various trade stands (inc Velo Vision magazine, drop by and say hello, I'm likely to be there or thereabouts all weekend), some bargains to be had, cycle jumble, various socialising, some grass track racing, and the grand British spectacle that is the old guard CTC, complete with beards, trousers tucked into socks, and more Caradice saddlebags that you can shake a stick at.... Also, Sunday morning, the mass ride from the Minster to the racecourse - hundreds of cyclists, police escort, cars just have to wait....

Seriously, worth a day trip if you're not so far away. Something like £2.50 to get into the trade area, other stuff free.

Thanks Arch, I have made the date on my calender.

Pray for better weather than last year, Saturday was very wet, and Sunday very windy - not so good for an event dominated by marquees....

Actually, even if the weather is a bit off (and in June, who knows?) it's probably worth a visit - most of the trade stuff is in marquees anyway...

Well done Arch with the paint job:wacko:

If you need a hand getting any new parts do not forget about asking me.

Cheers, I'll remember that. I've got all the bits it had on before, but I think it would be nice to do one or two upgrades eventually - things like moving the shifters from the downtube to the bars. I may even revert to drops again eventually (although I've found them less comfortable), or butterfly bars.

Oh, I forgot to say yesterday, I may be AWOL for a while - I'm off to my sister's for a week on Monday, so internet access will be less frequent (and I'll be far too busy, doting on Oli.) Apparently, for his Dad's birthday last week, they went up to London and went to the Science Museum, I'm so jealous! Oli loved the beam engine (his expression was a sort of  but more smiley), but was worn out and asleep in his buggy by the time they got to the aviation hall.

Can't wait to get him to the NRM....

Hmmm. Just been looking at mudguards online... Can you only get black or silver these days? The ones I have are odd - one silver, one a sort of bronzy gold (I have no idea how they ended up like that, its typical of my bikes), and I'm thinking the bronzy gold will look better.... But a quick look (very quick) only seems to find black or silver.... Ah well, I've got some, they'll do for now...

No, it was TheLoafer, and it was this:

Haven't really looked it so dunno if it's what you're after.

Right, I'm off home with my bike frame slung over one shoulder, for a bit of lunch, and maybe a play with some humbrol, and the Grand National later.
