BTW, I will put the brew on and a towel as I'm typing this nekkid as I'm trying to cool down.:eek::biggrin:

Oh my word. What's happening to the Tea thread?

I'm trying to compete with Wafflycat in the domestic goddess stakes. I have some wholemeal rolls and ciabatta currently rising and a pan of soup on the go. I just need to find the energy to start the muffins. I've got some beetroot to use up and have heard it's good in chocolate cake. Could be interesting...

We stayed in Margate on Thursday night, and on the Friday we cycled along the coast to Broadstairs for lunch, charity shop shopping, arcades and ice cream, then along to Ramsgate for paddling and a fish and chip supper!

The most special thing about this time away was that the Good Lady wasn't at all into cycling when we met she has now been bitten by the bug, she want's us to go away camping with the tandem for a week at the end of Sept!

Morning all! Kettle on. Tea pot at the ready. Help yourselves.

It's a lovely sunny day here, if a little breezy and I'm attempting my longest ride in a while. York and back via the York Cycling Festival, fuelled by various tearooms recommended by my fellow forummers:tongue:.

Oh! I didn't realise you'd ridden over and were riding back, cool. 80+ miles?

And yes, I've heard something about beetroot in chocolate cake, and courgettes in muffins, a good way to trick kids into eating veg apparently.

Glad you had a good holiday, Tdr1nka, and hoorah for cycle camping....

82 miles (I took a wrong turning and ended up in Barmby Moor:blush:). It was more than a tad windy. I stopped at the Balloon Tree and got showered with salad leaves from the neighbouring table when they were caught by a gust of wind:laugh:.

Free salad, excellent! Well done on the 82 miles. I might play hooky one day this week (now that I'm 'free') and get a ride in, not having done anything but 'home to the park and back' over the weekend.

The Balloon Tree are doing well out of CC. Solydog and Velocidad stopped there on their way over on Sunday.

They arrived at my Bike Maintenance for Ladies tent just as I was showing a lady how to fix a flat, and they very kindly went off and bought me an icecream - it was about 2.30, and I hadn't had lunch! Then they minded the tent for me while I got some proper dinner, and I came back to find Solty showing a lady how to drop a back wheel out...

Maybe next year, there should be a CC rendezvous tent, with a big tea urn in it. We could give out advice, so as to be useful, but mainly just sit round and natter...

Oh, and I took my camera, and when I finally had a minute and got it out, the batteries ran out....;)

Right. I'm off, need to do some food shopping on the way home. I've run out of Marmite!
