Just in from cutting the grass... time for a cuppa.

Hard work with scissors- must get a mower.

How's things with you LOTTP?
I'm trying to get miss tdr1nka ready for a trip on the tandem and go for a picnic.

All is well here thank you, tdr1nka, how are you and yours?
Sounds great, tdr1nka. What make of tandem have you got?

You are very welcome to join us Speicher.

LOTT, our tandem is a Pashley 'Tourmaster'. We were lent it initially and have now been given the offer of buying it at a stoopidly low price!

It needs some work doing to it but it suffices as the 'tdr1nka taxi', later today I will be taking Miss tdr1nka back to stay at her Mothers and then I will be collecting my Good Lady from work.

At present I'm riding the tandem more than my road bike.

We had a Pashley. Great tandem.

Our current ones are Holdsworthy, with small wheels, old but great to ride and a tandem trike with Higgins trike conversion.

got any pics?

The only thing about the 'Tourmaster' is that it is a 'ladies' frame and I've had to fit a longer seat stem and remount the stoker bars.

Next will be a longer quill stem, flat bars and rapid fire shifters, if they'll fit/work.

So, we got the tandem tyres all pumped up and after a few errands Miss tdr1nka and I went to Greenwich park for our picnic.
A lovely afternoon when the sun was out but a little too cool and Autumnal when it went behind the clouds.

On our way home we spotted this cruise ship moored mid river just between Greenwich and Deptford.

Even after a visit to the Docklands Museum I've often tried to explain to Miss tdr1nka that in the past all manner of sailing ships belonging to Merchants and traders used to moor in the river in their hundreds, awaiting unloading at the docks on the Isle Of Dogs.
Seeing this cruise liner gave her some idea of just how deep and wide the river is on this stretch and how it could have moored so many ships.

Right then, I'm putting the kettle on!

Evening all! I'm back up north after an adventurous week. I could do with a cuppa but forgot I wouldn't have any milk in. I wonder if the powdered milk I took camping would be an acceptable substitute?

Arch - I camped for 3 nights then got a text from Spandex saying there was lots of rain heading my way so stayed in the hostel at this place for a couple of nights. It was fantastic (I must thank BigonaBianchi - I saw it in the write up of his trip last year). It was definitely the right decision. Apparently the next morning there was a queue of bedraggled campers trying to get into the cafe and a girl moved into my dorm who had given up on trying to camp.

WC - I was along the north Norfolk coast at Burnham Deepdale. It was a lovely ride from Kings Lynn through Sandringham and onto the hostel, but the 'hills' were a shock to the system after two days on the flat fens. I had to walk up part of the first one:blush:.

Nice part of Norfolk. But don't you know Norfolk is flat? Well to those who haven't been here it is  Mountainous it isn't but it has some nasty undulations!
