I have been very good so far today, only had about 2000 calories instead of the usual 5000 by this time of day recently

You made it out of Owdam alive then?

Have spent an hour getting the bike up to my high standard of cleanliness, even put a bit of polish on the frame :angel:
No riding today, well behind schedule already for 2012

Polish what? Sausage? :hungry:

We got off work a little early as it was a Bank Holiday, just half an hour early by the time we finished. Sometimes on a Bank Holiday lots of people don't out their boxes out 'coz they don't think we'll be coming, but today they seem to have worked it out....

And a Very Clever Person has fixed the latch on the truck door, so we didn' have to have it held shut with a bungy, going bang every time we went over a bump...

Am now drinking :cuppa: and trying not to snack too much. Might have to cook dinner early!

I'm enjoying a nice :cuppa: and a well deserved one too.

I have taken a saw to the guest room stud wall and cut 18" off the end of it and fitted a door liner and door at 45deg to the wall. The original opening where it meets the new stud wall, that isn't there yet, makes the opening too narrow and so having the door on an angle in the corner of the room makes it work again.
It has taken me all afternoon to get that done due to trying to work out which of the out of plumb walls I needed to work to to get the door plumb and not looking too wonky relative to the walls and also to use the materials that I have to hand instead of buying new. I have denailed a lot of old 3x2 timber today.
Tomorrow I need to work out a short bit of concave stud walling to match the swing of the door. The room is now a very funny shape!

Also tomorrow I will have to sort out the floor boards, where I am working, as I need to rewire some of the surrounding rooms and replumb the heating and future ensuite bathroom before the stud walls go in and get in the way.

Maybe I will have a bedroom, ensuite, dressing room and guest room back on the top floor this year if I can keep picking at these little jobs.

Yay! Sounds like you've made progress, and progress of an encouraging sort!

Sometimes, starting is the hardest part.

Right, I'm making dinner. Carbonara I think.

:hello: I'm back from a day in the hills: a 2 hour muddy walk through the forest, followed by a mid-winter BBQ with sausages, burgers, lamp chops, baked potatoes, Christmas cake, stollen, pancakes, chocolates and melted marshmallows in the fire. And hot chocolate. Stuffed now
