colinj and co are doing a ride out of Hebdon Bridge today, there is no way I would want to venture that high into the hills. But who knows it may warm up later.
I was going to join them but didn't fancy the possibility of icy roads up there, it is also a very hilly ride they are doing today with some very fast downhill sections

Mornings. We've had our first proper frost of the winter. :cold: Leading today's group ride should be fun. Guess we''ll take it slow - shame Potsy's not a local, he'd be able to come out with us and keep up :giggle:

Anyone for :cuppa:?
I've just never been able to get the bumpkin accent right to pass as a local
I am not looking forward to it at all, spent the week trying to get someone else to lead for different reasons. Definitely leaving the road bike at home and tempted to wear old clothes instead of my cycling kit, on the grounds that they'll be no great loss if I hit the deck and wreck them.
Good luck Jo, I too would wear my old clothes and not take the best bike, in fact if you'd said earlier I could have sent you some of my old jeans that are too big for me now but would probably fit you perfectly :mrpig:
Thanks for the tea :cuppa:

I put up a post on the ride thread just to let them know it is icy round here so for them to becareful over there, they should be ok as long as they keep an eye out.

I think I will trundle out later but I will wait the ice to thaw a bit first.

I just got back from town and it was very cold (-2) but the roads seem ok apart from any wet patches as they are frozen solid.

I think you might just got your tea taken back....

Jo couldn't wear your old jeans.

They'd be far too short....

Very sunny and a bit frosty here. Wherever here is. Just having a nice :cuppa:

That's my inner leg length, though I usually wear 30" so they trail on the ground and get scuffed. :becool:

T'was a VERY cold ride, my left hand turned into a block of ice and didn't have enough strength in it to change gear, had to use t'other hand instead. Made for some very wobbly riding. I did lots of this >> :cursing: in the tearoom when the feeling came back into it.

Lots of:cuppa: now ... did someone mention bread and butter pudding? :hungry:

You should have just stayed in the bottom gear like you normally do

My 29" troos are ankle length on me, like to get a bit of air to my legs

Please tell me you didn't try it...
Ummmm.....

My jeans are 33" leg. I am long in the leg for a bloke apparently though I've never checked measurements with other blokes to find out.
My inside leg to height ratio is 0.47. Is that higher or lower then average?

I've been busy today. Managed two trips to the tip and cleared a dumping area behind my trailer so I can now get the tractor out of the trailer to work on.

I have no idea how that compares with average. I do know that a frame I can comfortably straddle is actually too small for me. You will therefore rarely see me standing straddling my bike.
