I dare not mention this in the thread about "What to do if you see someone stealing a bike?"
In town here, no one locks their bike. Walking around the shops I will see two or three bikes propped up against a wall. My question would be "How do you know if someone is walking off with a bike that is not theirs?". Somehow I do not think many people on this forum would believe me. Until they get on it and it is the wrong size, you cannot tell if it is their bike. I suppose there might be shifty looking around, with an accomplice in the vicinity.

I sometimes think I would like to borrow a dog to take it for a walk. It would need to be a very well behaved dog, though. Rather like my niece's border terrier. He is like a well-behaved teddy bear on long legs ^_^ until you let him off the lead then he is :wahhey: :hyper::wahhey:

In my village, you can tell how long someone has owned their bike not by the state of its chain but whether or not they lock it when they go into a shop :giggle:

I hope you are feeling better now.

I am slowly feeling better again. I even ventured out to post a bill payment. Some brain dead person had emptied a dog right in the middle of the pavement and it had be trod in and squished. I managed to avoid it but I can still smell it now I am home.xx(
Much, thank you. I've even been able to scromf a doughnut that my landlords gave me after they broke their diets. Again. :mrpig:

First time I stayed in Oxford I was amazed at how people would just leave their bikes unlocked, just leant them against the wall/fence and left them.
Must be even better in a 1950's village

If I get a dog you are welcome to do the walking, emptying and cleaning up. I'll just do the feeding and cuddling.^_^

I feel dizzy.
Just watching Massive Engines on Quest and the filming of the running steam engine in a paddle steamer has made me feel nauseous. Looks like the dizziness and vertigo sensations are back.

I find it difficult to watch tv if there is a constant change of camera angle etc. If the interval between shots is very short. On the paddle steamer, there would also have been the noise of the engines, and no doubt the person "talking" is having to shout to be heard about the noise.

I tried to watch the large trucks recently on highlights of the Dakar rally. After only a few seconds, I was feeling  because the trucks are so tall and wide, it was like watching a boat on heavy seas. Watching the motorcycles on the Dakar rally was ok. I expect they are going just as fast, just not so much - what is word - for upping and downing and leaning - oh yes, lurching ? etc. Yawing?

My point is this, Night Train, yes  there is one. ;) Is that the sensations you describe are not unique to you.

I think the engine enclosing the crank would be stationary. A moving part on a moving ship would be .. a different kettle of fish. Even though you were on the new meds for a short time, they can take a long time to be metabolised, and to leave your system.

I will need to go for a drive later, hopefully I will be ok for that.

Hopefully...

I'm on a train, whizzing through snowy countryside.

There's a lady next to me composing a Powerpoint presentation, who's clicking on every style to see what they are like. Just choose one!
