*hands out tea*

How's this for bad timing? Today my legs are feeling really strong and I'm able to show an excellent turn of speed, the only problem is my brakes are nearly useless in the wet.

Now I've got to go back out in the rain for a staff meeting. Oh Joy!

TTFN.

It's been wuite nice up here toady - milder and even occasional brightness. And I gather that some roads are now passable again as the water recedes....

I've just mapped the rounds I've walked/triked this week, and so far it comes to just over 11 miles! No wonder I can have a pasty at lunchtime everyday....:becool:

I'm up to 14 miles riding just commuting (and a bit of visiting) too, with 9 more to do before Friday...

Jeese no wonder I was really tired at the end of a year. I wonder how many miles I covered over that year?

I'm officially a time waster, I'm living up to my signature. Spent an hour this morning trying to print the propagation task list I did yesterday, for this mornings lecture.

I need to try and do two or three assignments at the same time instead of concentrating on the one. I'm still working on the soil science essay due on Monday. Grrr

Arch how did you divided your time up when doing your undergraduate degree? Bigist problem I have at the moment is the 17 hours of lectures.

I think, if I remember correctly (it was a long time ago now!) I concentrated on one thing at a time, in chunks. So one day in the library researching an essay, the next day working on a seminar presentation, back to essay research for a day or two - it all depended on what was due when really, but I managed to get into a routine for each term.

I don't know if it was the organisation of my time that counted most, or the working all through weekends when necessary, and into the evenings and so on.... And when I put my head down, I was better than I am now at not getting too distracted, so a morning in the library was 4 hours solid reading and notetaking...

Hoorah, Oli's Christmas present has arrived at work, now I just have to manage not to play with it....

I used to have my timetable written down in table format. Started each day at 08.00 and ended at 18.00 Then I'd make provision for a couple of hours per night of 'homework' I allowed myself one night per week off completely and kept Sundays free for leisure and as 'emergency catch-up' if required. I'd mark in all the time taken up by lectures/tutorials each day, and then split the rest between library/research/revision/writing/lunch/short break/meetings etc., etc.. Worked for me.

I very pleasant young gentleman called Ocado has just delivered my groceries, which includes cashew nuts, waffles - the edible variety, apple strudel, and two small packets of Tyrrells crisps*, if you are ready for your elevenses.

* So you will have to share those.

There's lots of boring stuff as well.

And some Madagascan Vanilla Dark Belgian Choc Ices. But I am not sharing those, or there won't be enough left for my Mum and me this weekend. ;)
