Yes, :cuppa: lovely.

I am at home again after two days at my Mother's house. Well one day waiting waiting for an ambulance and then waiting in A and E for four hours. Today was spent answering the phone, answering the doorbell, trying to find spare keys and sugar. She fell down the stairs, and broke her collarbone and a rib. She also has a black eye. :B) She is still in hospital, but my brother is now at her house.

Yesterday there were almost as many Policemen as there were patients waiting in A and E.

Oh dear, your poor Mum! I hope she makes a speedy recovery. Collarbones are a bugger, coz you can't do anything like splint it, but just rest them and hope they knit straight, and meanwhile you can't lift anything.

She is 90 years old. She only fell down from the third step up from the bottom of the stairs, but must have landed badly or fell against the bannister. I got the phone call at 6am to ask me to drive up there straight away.

I could not find the sugar. I found some caster sugar with those vanilla pods in it. I can safely say that vanilla caster sugar does not go well in porridge or tea!

Third step up is still a fair way to fall. I hope there are no complications.

The first paramedics (at about 5am) did not insist on her going to hospital. I got there about 9am and she deteriorated during the morning. Long story short, the on-call doctor came out to see her and then insisted that she went for an x ray. Then a two hour wait for an ambulance to transport her, an hour's wait in A and E in a corridor (with the paramedics with us), then four hours in a cubicle. She was allocated a bed about 8pm last night. She will probably stay there for the next two days.
