I'm sure you're suppose to put the insulation in the loft you know, not the basement... I suppose it stops the moles digging up through the floor?
We started storing it in the loft but the loft but we filled it so we started putting the stuff in the walls and the floors and in the basement...
I even wrapped loads around the hotwater tank when I had one. A bit messy but cheaper then buying a jacket for it.

The Etyres van drove past my house this evening, I had to follow him up the road and into another house's driveway to direct him back to mine. The should have been due Tuesday, then Wednesday and, thankfully he made it tonight.

I have a tea-stained t-shirt. Do you have washing facilities that will Bish-Bosch the offending stain Speicher?

Er no, sorry, the new machine is arriving on Tuesday. Fortunately I am not wearing many clothes :thumbsup:B) getting many clothes dirty 'cos I am staying indoors.

I just noticed that the thread above Tea? was Mate? - which if you use the Spanish South American pronounciation, is the same thing....B)

Hoik! Middle of page two!

Just off out to the bank to set up a standing order, when I can tear myself away. Still white outside, not sure if we had more overnight or not.

And I MUST clean up the runs of condensation on that wall!

Mornings. I am listening to Vaughan Williams: Fantasia On A Theme By Thomas Tallis, whilst looking out over the snow scene at the back - the garden filled with birds and out over the snow covered fields beyond.

It is quite *magical*

Afternoon! Can I get anyone a cuppa?

We had a big dump of snow yesterday afternoon and Hull was gridlocked. Took me two hours to get home:angry:. And I can't get to York to see my beloved Spandex:sad:.

I really must read more slowly. I read the above as:-

"We had a big dump yesterday..."

and I wondered why I needed to know this...

Yes, cuppa please.

Ta!

I've got a nice cauldron of fresh garliky mushroom & walnut soup on the go (made gallons yesterday). Anyone want some with homemade bread?

I'm salivating! There's nothing better than homemade soup with homemade bread.

Evening all!

First day of work on the new house. We're about 75% of the way to taking out the old kitchen, and what wallpaper we've taken off is revealing pretty healthy looking plaster. Phew! ;)

No offence, but with the exception of garlic, you've just described my worst idea of soup ever....

I'll have some bread though....;)

How exciting Landers! Taking out stuff and stripping paper can be soooo satisfying. As long as it comes off in decent bits, and not a mm at a time...

I've been wandering around the NRM this afternoon, including underneath King George IV (he was parked over the inspection pit, I've never seen a steam loco from beneath before), and Tornado was in the workshop, having her front bogey serviced. I really can't wait to take Oli there.
