Or ask for the person's phone number.

I reckon that's the way to go. You sound pretty happy with the idea, so ring up, say yes, then ask what it actually means!
If needs be you could meet up beforehand over a drink to discuss tactics.

oh nnnoooo, not "tactics", But I think I know what you mean, Landslide.
Meeting casually before the wedding, as it were ;) might reduce the apprehension on both sides, in the best possible way.

I was thinking along the lines of "how loud should we cough at the 'just cause or impediment' bit?", or "is it acceptable to do the bunny ears during the photos?"... ;)

Same here - pavements more dangerous than the roads now. Will be interesting if this lot freezes again.
Corner houses have their TV and telephone wires pulled away from people stopping slipping over.

Almost all gone round here.

Still icy slush on some side roads.
Funnily enough you could tell where the local borough boundries were because as soon as you left the icy roads in Lewisham you hit the clear roads in Southwark.

True Grit?

TEA UP!!

Afternoons!!

Snow is still thawing slowly here, leaving a fair amount of slush on the cycle paths...
*squelch*

I dunno about that, there's an unfair amount of it on the St Nick's path...

Still, it was slightly easier to get a trike through today.

And a little old lady gave us a box of chocolate seashells for New Year, and making such an effort in the snow. How nice. Would have been even nicer if they'd been remotely edible, I think they were a poundshop special, and on closer inspection they weren't chocolate, but chocolate flavoured coatingxx(. Honestly, they were worse than Hersheys. Mind you, a couple of people back at base ate more than one... Those of us with sophisticated palates declined a second.

Weighed myself 'properly' this morning (recent weigh-ins have been rather hasty, and clothed, due to the cold) and was pleasantly surprised to find I'd lost some, despite Christmas. Yay!

Arch - are you sitting down? I am very sorry to ask you this, can you put chocolate on a compost heap? I made the mistake of buying Asda's version of Bounty bars. They are terrible, too terrible even to give away.:smile:

Made up for it today, by buying two proper Bounty bars.

Hmmm. I would think it would compost, but might attract rats etc.

Perhaps best just to throw them away.

Or give them to someone you don't like much? Or save them for next Halloween for the trick or treaters;)

I cannot decide if it is horrible chocolate or horrible coconut. Perhaps I will have to disect one to find out. I could use the coconut in some flapjacks. Do birds like coconut, or is there too much sugar in it?

I don't know about the coconut in Bounty, but desi... dessik... dried coconut isn't good for them, it swells up in the stomach.

Probably too sugary, although I don't know if they can get beak rot.

If you wanted to encourage foxes, they'd probaby wolf (if you'll excuse the interspecies confusion) it down and not suffer, they seem to be able to eat most things.
