Morning, evening all. Today we go diving for a week on a live aboard boat out on the Great Barrier Reef! Yippie! So I'll be out of touch for a bit.

I hope you all have a good week! Speicher, enjoy the rest of your holiday. Archie and Colin get better soon. NT, keep doing the exercises - you are making really good progress. Arch, Potsy, Jo, Doctor, Phil don't work too hard. Nihal - your job is to find out why Uncle Mort stopped being an uncle.

Can't be bad have a nice time.

I was going to go for a ride this afternoon but I had to sort out my noisy drivetrain, I tracked it down to the jockey wheels and luckily spa cycles had some in stock.

The plan is to cycle over to Otley in the morning and have lunch at the Cockpit Farm Cafe as I don't have any jobs I have to do until the afternoon, so watch someone ring in the morning and spoil it.

Finally! (as posted in the health and fitness forum)

After 13 weeks I am free of the orthopedic boot!:wahhey:
Today's locum was quite good, he spoke to me and asked me how I was and how I was getting on. He then asked if there was any pain in my calf and grabbed it to give it a good squeeze. I said there was no more pain then if he did that to my other leg.^_^
He then grabbed my toe and shook it about a bit and asked if that hurt. It didn't.

He told me I could lose the boot, and the toe strapping and probably the crutches too and get on with the physiotherapy.
I have a physio appointment next Tuesday so I am looking forward to that.

In the meantime I am walking very carefully testing the motion of my foot on uneven floors and stairs.
I am happy and just had a celebratory :cuppa: !

Right, what can I get on with, :training::boxing::bicycle::sweat::o):hyper::dance::heat:?
:headshake:

I might just bake a cake for Illias to thank him for giving me a lift to and from the hospital.:mrpig:

I've just bought a used steel bath on Ebay for £10.05.

It will do as a temporary bath in my current bathroom so I can move my cast iron bath upstairs and start work on the ensuite bathroom!

I bought a steel one as I can weigh it in when I am done with it. A 'plastic' one would only be landfill (athough I did think about an upturned plastic bath making a good bonnet for a tractor..... )

I have a ginger, walnut and almond cake in the oven. :hungry:

I am getting into the habit of putting a small dollop in a cupcake mould to get a taster of the ones I give away. What I must get into the habit of doing is upping the mix by one egg so I don't end up making smaller then usual cakes.

Well done!

<serious hat>

Now, you just be careful....:stop:

Glad you got the bath. Now all we have to do is pick it up, uninstall your current cast iron bath, install the steel one, move the cast iron one upstairs, plumb it in, build the bathroom round it and finish the bedroom!

Easy!;)

If I remember tomorrow, I'll pick some blackberries, there's a nice bramble growing through the recycling compound fence, and we could make some more little individual cakes.....:hungry:

Ooooh! That cake was nice!:mrpig:

80g caster sugar.
100g butter, melted in the microwave.
Mix well.
Beat two eggs and mix into the butter and sugar.
Add a handfull of walnuts and almonds and a heaped teaspoon of candied ginger and mix in.
Fold in 110g of self raising flour.
Into an oven at 175 degC for 25-30 minutes.

Spot on, light and fluffy cake, not too sugary sweet.

Mm, sounds good! :hungry:

I came home a bit early, not feeling well. I sat on the bed and read for a while, and then, feeling better, made my dinner and ate it, about an hour earlier than normal.

The problem is, I'm now thinking it's dinner time!

I'll wash up, and then have another cuppa and a little nibble of something...
