Mornings! Not like me to be up and on here at this time on a Saturday. It's so dark outside it feels like the middle of the night! I'm heading out to the North York Moors for a walk so it's all in a good cause though.

The kettle's boiled and the tea bags are in the pot ready for the next one of you to stumble in.

I'm starting to wonder if the sun came up today, it's still miserable at midday! I woke at 7, it was dark. Went back to sleep, woke at 8.15, still seemed dark - although I have dark curtains, so that might be it. Went back to sleep. Woke at 9.15, decided to get kettle on, drew curtains, hardly any effect....

Just went out to Sainsburys, having run out of all the heavy things at once. Came back and did some laundry, now thinking about some lunch. Out for supper tonight - Gromit, I have a bottle of red, some dip and some tortillas!

17,000th post, I think....

Poor Anode. She is most certainly no longer top hen. Campag has most definitely taken over (Campag rules, 'natch...) and poor Anode looks increasingly dishevelled as she goes into moult with feathers lying all over the henhouse & run.

Dear me, I'd never thought of them all at once!

Actually, that smilie is so not right in that context.

Right, there will be a short pause while I concoct noodles in soup... And tea, of course.

Thank you.

Now I have to work on my time keeping.
Years ago I was particular about punctuality, I've been getting pretty slack of late.

Time keeping what's that? Many years ago I worked supposedly 8.30 am to 4.30 pm. But frequently ie, nearly every day, I was at least ten or even fifteen minutes late. At 4.20pm most people would pack up and start to get ready to go home, but I carried on for another twenty minutes, so far so good.

Management then decided to have a crack-down on lateness. The guy at the main gate was told to note down the lateness of everyone, even if by five or ten minutes. Long story short, he never noted my name down, because he thought my start time was 8.45 am.

Evenings. Off to see "The Book Of Eli" soon. I'm expecting the film to be a steaming pile of post-apocalyptic twaddle, but I don't care as I shall be spending my time basking in the HRT-substitute that is Denzel Washington.
