Dentist was ok, just a costly look in my mouth and a dressing over one of my two broken molar teeth.
I have to return to have the first of two repairs done, not crowned as I feared. However, a part of me feels that I might as well have them crowned to prevent breaking them again.

Right, I am back off down to the workshop. I have a 'thing' to make.

Oh, the Ebay thing from last week. The seller removed it from sale shortly before I was going to bid.

Don't you always? :giggle:

I've come home early from work, feeling a bit rough with my cold. Not terrible, but just rough enough to decide to err on the side of caution, since there was enough cover for this afternoon.

We did our round this morning, and only had to wade through some deep puddles rather than feet of water. And we watched some impressive pumping out of drains going on:

(We were standing one side of the wall, and the river the other side was about at our knee level.)

Also, I noticed that a flood is a good way to test the integrity of your pointing...

River's still coming up though, seems to be expected to peak about now....

Time to curl up in bed with the laptop, and :cuppa:

As I turned round there were still cars willing to try and drive through that, I just went round the other way, there really are some stupid people about.
That doesn't surprise me at all. The last time we had bad floods in Shrewsbury it amused me to watch the drivers coming down to Coleham Head and looking all surprised that the road was closed, despite having had to have passed 5 "road closed ahead" signs before reaching the actual closure.

As mentioned in my ride report from monday I saw a guy in a Mondeo doing (almost certainly) major damage to his engine by driving through a flood which was just that little bit too deep.

Strangely enough I hadn't. What is it going to be?
I am building a scrap heap pedal powered smoothy maker for Arch's work.

A long chain will go to a wheel at the front with chain tubes to keep legs clean. The rear drop outs and the front BB will be the mounting points for the stand to secure it at a working height.

I could have made it shorter but that would involve more cuts, more welds and a bit more fiddling. Also I can keep the overall height as low as the pedals will allow by having the wheel raised up like that.
Puts the blender in front of the cyclist's face!^_^
The brake was removed but I figured it was better to keep it. No gears though.

I need to find some quick release fasteners now, one for the rear drop outs and one for the seat post clamp.

Ha! Ha! I know! I know!

Not telling though, until NT does...;)

(Tells, that is, not knows. I think he does know, although I sometimes wonder if that applies to all his creations! :giggle:)

Seems the Enviro Agency expect the Ouse to peak about Midnight. Room for more rise then!
