I was getting chilly, so I turned the heater up, by reaching over and turning the dial, which is on the side facing away from me, without looking.

Eventually started to feel even colder.

Next time, look what you're doing, Arch. Turning it down to zero is stupid...

Blimey, to think there are trains regularly MORE overcrowded than some of the ones I've been on.

The simple answer would be to double the size of certain trains, but apparently 'they' can't just do that.

Well you wouldnt get very far in the corporate enviroment arch ................. next you will be saying they should turn up on time and cut the fairs to attract people out of their cars

Honestly, if things were better, I might think that working on a train was quite a nice idea, working the tea trolley perhaps. But it must be hell having to deal with irate people who are irate for reasons completely outside your control.

Yes it puzzles me why this country cant sort out its public transport which is why I gave up on it years ago, these days I either cycle or drive depending on where I am going and what I have to do when I get there, but I wish they would sort it out other countries have fantastic public transport so why cant we.

I think I mentioned yesterday, my latest Christmas card received, with a painting of a lady on a bike.

Waiting for my broadband top up just now, I was looking at it more and have spotted a few more anomalies:

The front wheel has 10 radial spokes. The rear has 9.

There's no downtube.

Or cranks,

The pedals appear to be attached to the soles of the lady's boots, and if there were cranks, the angle between them would be about 30 degrees....

Did you watch Eggheads this evening Arch? It was a celebrity version with the cast of the Archers. I cannot tell you who won cos I sort of fell asleep half way through. This is not because it was boring, but cos I had a bath before tea, and then had steak pie.
