How old does the music need to be before it goes "out of copyright" or does that not happen?

Not sure. The producers say that the multiple tracks they use in each episode are integral to the telling of said episode but that the royalties they'd have to pay would cost far more than they could get back from sales. Or so they say. I agree re: the use of music but as for the rest ... who knows?

I have located Murdoch Mysteries in iTunes. I would start with Series 5, episode 4: Who killed the electric carriage? and episode 10: Invention Convention.

I thought I found iTunes, but all the prices are in Dollars.
