We have a 3 course TVC meal tonight with a bottle of red. A bottle of fizz and chocolates for later to see in the New Year so tomorrow will not be an early one

I just installed the asda app on my phone and tried out the thing where you put in the receipt number and if the prices elsewhere are cheaper they give you a voucher for the difference, so far I have got a voucher for all the receipts under 45 days old with more than 8 items on them so worth checking them.

It also has a barcode scanner so you can build up a shopping list by just scanning items around the house.

Today we I gave the cement rendered wall a coat of PVA, and then I we did a patch of bonding plaster on a wall that needed straightening. NT is patiently teaching me to overcome my desire to get every layer smooth, and instead to just slap it on and worry later!

Right, I suppose I better set up the party. I've no idea how much, if at all, we'll actually be in this evening, as we're invited out to NT's friend's house down the road. But if I set up the buffet and unlock the drinks cabinet, everyone can make merry.

We'll have a quiet meal tonight, just Mrs R and me. I've got a bottle of Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc....that should do us (as Mrs R has given up alcohol)
