Definitely better today.

A "small" incision (looks flnkin' huge!) then they put some mesh in to fix and reinforce the hole in the abdominal muscle wall. The muscle grows around the mesh and ends up stronger than when it started.

I've got a recuperation timetable. Driving and "gentle sexual intercourse" feature in wek 2, but cycling only appears in week 4! Yeah, right!

I trust you're not combining the two?
I had 6 weeks (!!!) off the bike after dislocating my shoulder. It was hell.
The 5 weeks off work lounging in the sun and watching the Tour were good though.

Hope we all heal up nicely!!!

Just as long as you're not washed up yourself!

The great angle grinder debacle of 2007 had me indisposed for four weeks!
Paid to go see an ostiopath who said I should have been riding again after two.
When they said too much rest had made my muscles atrophy I thought I'd won a prize!

More tea you splendid lot?

I'll bet it's pretty sore, I had my apendix out and that involves cutting thru the abdominal muscles, I was scared to stretch for years after.;)

*Passes round loverly hot tea to the assembled masses*

I'll have some of that tea that's doing the rounds. It hasn't stopped raining all day here and is utterly miserable:sad:. And I've got to go out on my bike in it later:sad:;).

I'm taking a break from rearranging Tdr1nka Towers to give Misty her own room. *phew*

In fact I've got the sofa stuck between the living room and the bedroom and taking a fag break while I work out if I need to take a castor off the sofa of shelves off the wall.:biggrin:

Tell me about it, I've been out in it all day! Utterly miserable. I was soaked by mid morning (coat and w/p trousers really need chucking out and replacing), and by lunchtime, moving as if through treacle, but without the likely sugar rush.

It rained and then snowed, but had settled down to steady sleet by the time I rode home... Any tea about? I got in, peeled off all my wet stuff, chucked it in the shower and then got in there with it to warm up.

I remember days like that doing the recycling, I always wonted to give up and go back home. I need to find a safer way to get to Cawood, the road that goes through Naburn is not the best for doing anything on, especially when it floods.

Trouble is, they are longish detours - either the A19 and then small roads off to Riccall and Kelfield, or all the way to Selby virtually and back along the Wistow road, or, A64 to just beyond Tadcaster, then A162 south and turn off to left on minor roads to Ulleskelf, Ozendyke and Cawood. Damn rivers getting in the way.
