Crikey - don't you late night owls tidy up after yourselves. This T room is a disgrace.

Oh s*d it - I'll just have T. Someone else can tidy up.

S'alrihngt. I'll tidy upo. I'm perfectlyu sober, honest. Not had aanythingss to drinks and fish and chiosps for dinner.

Spoke to a few people at work about the scrap store. York had one once, but it sort of dwindled. But my recyclong boss reckons it might be ripe for revival. I sense a project!

Also, I've apparently been volunteered for a visit by some people form DEFRA, who want to observe some recycling, and my boss had the idea of a competition between them and a recycler to sort steel from ali cans - them with magnets, the recycler by sight feel and experience. Guess which recycler?

Sorry, my fault.

On crutches and one leg so it was a bit difficult to get around.

Good luck with that.
You could use one of those magician's rings with a magnet on the palm side to cheat a little but I am sure you won't need to.

No. We work on a combination of sight, feel and brand knowledge. Like, drink cans are ali, except for Carling (except for Carling 1 pint cans) and some Fosters, and Boddingtons, and most Pepsi, and a few others. You can confirm by looking at the bottom. Food cans are all steel - except the ali fish cans... Aerosols can be either, and the shape of the bottom gives it away. It's a dark art. ;)

I generally tell by feel. Steel and Ali have a different feel to them in terms of temperature transfer and surface hardness.

oh, what have you done!?
I woke up Thursday morning with a very sore right foot. By the end of work I could hardly stand and barely walk so I went to a NHS drop in. The initial diagnosis is something like inflamation of the sub dermis.

My foot is swollen, painful and very sore to the touch everywhere except around the ankle and big toe area.

I have been advised to spend a few days with my feet up popping anti-biotics and anti-inflamatries so I phoned in sick and canceled my work for the weekend.
Work then told me I needed to pay my teacher training course fees by today or get thrown off the course so I had to drive into work and get that organised.
On the way in from the car park to the building I got blown over by the wind.
I didn't land too badly but no one came to help until I was back up and moving again.

Right now it feels like my foot is being crushed in a vice and scalded with hot water.

Oh, poor thing! I hope you get better speedily.

Have one of these if it helps:

:hugs:

I'm off to bed soon. A pint and a half of Roosters IPA, and fish and chips has made me a little sleepy.

There were two sorts of cakes at the Resource Centre today.

The edible one, baked by the lady whose birthday it was. She is German and it was a very light but plain sponge, with hazelnuts and some spices.

The other cake was sponge, but bright pink, and not very edible at all, just looked like cake. Yes, I know, I should have taken a photo, but I always forget that my phone has a camera.

Night Train, was it you who fell through someone's ceiling recently?

I hope you start to feel better soon. Have a gentle :hugs:

We need to delay moving the Castle then? ;)

Yes, a few months ago I fell through a floor and landed on the back of my left leg and head butted the corner of the chinmey breast.
Nice hugs are always welcome, thank you.

My whole right leg hurts now. I am hoping it is only muscular and joint stresses from only standing on my left leg and keeping my right elevated as I move.

I don't suppose Night Train has your leg, unless there's been some odd transplant stuff going on.... ;)

Well, I was all set for a busy day of sloth, with the possibility of light shopping, and looking out of the window as I had my morning lie in and thinking I really ought to be out in the sun, when I got a text asking if I wanted to join a bike ride this afternoon! Hoorah, just the impetus I needed. And I'll get a roast dinner to boot. So I'm just having a lazy morning instead.

Aw, my sister just rang, and put Oli on the phone, to ask "Auntie Sue, do you have any bridges?". This stumped me until it was explained that his current railway bridges in the Ikea set are too low for some of his locos to go under. So I've said I'll look for some bridges, and maybe we can try them out when I see him at Christmas....
