I could lend you Leo. He is doing an excellent job of being a soft warm foot warmer. But it is time for me to go to bed rather than drive to Manchester.

Early night for me too,age is catching up with me,I need 10 hours sleep a night now

My mum is always trying to palm her cat off on me,she 'inherited' it as it was a stray and really isn't a 'cat' person,don't know how my 2 would react tbh,they are not very welcoming of strange cats that pop into the garden as it is.

Visit the Farmer Market (on Third and Fairfax) great place for a wander/browse/food etc
Hire a car and just drive around, up into Topanga Canyon overlooking LA, some stunning scenery.
Griffith Park (home to The Hollywood Sign and LA Zoo)
Forest Lane Cemetery (you can find Mel Blanc, Liberace, Bette Davis etc)
The Getty Museum in Santa Monica (free)

Well done, anyway! That's some acheivement.

I started to feel a bit rough at lunchtime, and by 4 I was shivering and aching all over and had to come home - I felt so bad I didn't dare ride, so I pushed the bike home. I'm hoping it's a bad cold, not flu - I guess if I can sit here and type, it's not flu. Went straight to bed when I got in, and lay there dozing and going hot and cold. Head is a bit better since I took a paracetamol. Think I'll head back to bed soon.

I was offered an audition at the Lowry, for this evening, for a show they are planning for February. I thought about it being a big chance to break into professional acting but had to decline it as I was teaching a session for my teacher training this evening.


Still not sure I made the right decision. I think I had my 'grown up head' on that was saying 'If you're gonna run away to join the circus get a praper trade under ya belt first, laddie!'

It's always hard to know if you'd made the right decision about something like that. But if you have a committment, I suppose it's sensible to keep it... However, I think it's never too late to do stuff, so something else might come up.

Thanks for the good wishes all. I'm much better today, having spent the day in bed, alternately knitting and dozing, and half watching daytime TV - the low point perhaps being Homes under the Hammer, the high point being an old episode of Due South. I'll be cooking a proper dinner later (I just had toast yesterday), and hoping for a good night's sleep, and being back at work tomorrow.

At 1pm if I am at home, I will be watching Due South. For some reason it is not on Wednesdays. It is the lead characters sense of humour that I like. Asked if he would like to do some stirring, of the meal that his girlfriend was preparing, he replied, "That is one of my abiding interests".

Today in the Baker's as is usual I asked for a Multi-grain loaf. The assistant asked me if I wanted one with sesame seeds, whole grains, (and a further three ingredients) or "the one that is on special offer at half price.....(pause)... which I haven't got?" For some reason I thought that was very nearly .

So I said, "In that case, I will have two of the one you haven't got".

Yes, she does know me in the Baker's.
