Very carefully, after I had an unanticipated dismount in the snow the other day...

That's one nice thing about single speeders, there's very little to set up. It was a bare frame at half-eight this evening. I just need to get another brake cable, although it'll stop perfectly well with only the front brake..

Would love to be able to do that kind of stuff myself, will try a single speed one day for the simplicity of it.
What wheels have you put on there?

Mornings!!

@potsy - they're the Tiagra level Shimano factory wheels - about £70 the pair IIRC. They're 8/9/10 speed, but you can singlespeed them with a sprocket and a load of spacers.

I think Pooh Mah brought back some of your cold Speicher, I feel a bit 'man fluey' today.
Good job I'm not one to make a fuss eh?

Got my hot lemon and paracetamol on standby.

I'm feeling like that too.
A cross between a stinging headache and really bad hayfever, sneezing, snotty nose, pain behind the eyes.
I am going to have to get a load of work done in my freezing cold work shop too. I think I am developing an allergy to wood dust.

Oh noes! That would be a Bad Thing for a carpenter...

I think the cold weather is affecting everyone - if even there isn't much snow, the air is damp and bitter cold. Still, in the end, it's healthier that way than a warm damp winter, as the cold kills off bugs in the soil and so on... Not much comfort when you're freezing though!

Today it must have been warmer, since my nosehairs didn't freeze on the way in to work.

If anyone wants to see the reserve and us recyclers, there are some nice pics here:

I'm in there, on the trike. Look carefully, and you can see the scoops either side of the front wheel track, where the pedals went below snow level....

Evening. Feeling much better now, must be my hot lemon/paracetamol combo that has cured a potential serious case of 'Man Flu'... or I had nothing wrong with me and need to stop whinging

Cats fed and watered, hot choccy drunk, ham sandwich for supper and I am now 'chilling'

How is everyone then?

Glad to hear the man flu has cleared up. It can be a tricky affliction, often failing to last long enough to justify a day or two in bed being pampered despite all efforts to keep it going.

I am definately thinking I may have an allergy to wood, not good for a furniture maker to produce more snot then shavings.
Still, I have now put a heater in the workshop to take the chill off in case it is that.

Potsy have you read my thread about Man Flu and how it is passed from women who have a cold by the process of transmoggrification or transmewtation? ;)

Night Train, hope you start to feel better soon.

Sounds like that would have me Cat-atonic before the end. Purr-fect for when I next suffer insomnia

I'll have you know I was ill for at least 4 hours!! I tell you hot water with sugar and a slice of lemon cures the common cold, been eating plenty to keep my strength up too, can't be too careful with 'man flu' you don't know how lucky you are to only have normal 'flu' to worry about
