I have just managed to wipe all my planned recordings from the DVD recorder by pressing the 'auto update' option

as I usually have 7 days worth of recordings planned and ready to go I am not amused
sad.gif
now got to go through the TV guide again and try to remember everything I had planned.
Did you carry on watching Zen? I have recorded all 3 parts as I like to watch shows like that all in one go, would have watched Hitch but it's a bit girly for me, should be perfect for you

I watched the first part of Zen but was not impressed. Bruce Parry in the Arctic is on at the same time. There is a Danish detective series starting on Saturday. Yes, I like Hitch, seen it before. Might not stay up to the end, but I do like the dancing scene at the end. Albert is a very good dancer. :becool:

Morning(just) had a problem with the sat nav

Well after a weeks good behaviour I have lost 2 lbs to go with the 1 I lost last week, not exactly the crash diet I was thinking about but at least it's a start.
Will be having a weekend treat of sausage and scrambled eggs today, can't have coco pops all week can I?
Tea is in the pot, cats are fed, and I need to clean my bike sometime today, oh it's a hard life

That is good in a week. If you eat too little, then I think you run the risk of your metabolism going into "starvation" mode. Loosing one or two pounds a week, is, I think much more sensible.

Have you thought about having lean bacon (grilled) instead of the sausages?

I will be making some soup this afternoon, spicy lentil, and tonight's meal is spicy pork, carrots and cabbage, possibly leaving out the potatoes, to allow for the consumption of a small amount of chocolate. The scales may not show much difference yet, but my clothes are feeling looser.

Tea's up!

My head hurts thinking about a course work question so I have posted it to see if anoyone else can help.

I have to restart my diet I think. I have been ill with a chest infection recently and had decided it wasn't a good time to reduce my nourishment. Now I am better I need to organise a proper reduction in calories.
The lack of a proper work routine doesn't help given a mix of long and short days, late and early starts, many late finishes and few proper breaks.

I think Speicher has a good point - try to replace fatty options with less fatty options. Reduce your portions, just a little bit. Try to restrain the snacks - not necessarily cut them out altogether. Nibble away at the weight.

I've put a bit back on over the winter, less cycling, more food at lunchtime (mainly as a comfort thing after a cold morning of work), and I know the snacking has crept back a bit. Now it's time to sort that out.

Lunch was a reduced pack of sushi. And a creme egg. D'oh!

Mind you, I swear they've got smaller since last year.

But I got the trike out this morning, for the first time in 2 months, ready for a ride tomorrow. So light, so fast! :hyper:

Right, I have laundry and tidying to do.

Irregular meal times and shift work definitely hinders me, snacking has always been a problem too.
Don't know why but I quite fancy a creme egg now

thanks for nothing Arch

Grilled bacon instead of sausage? Surely you mean 'as well as'?

I've been really hungry recently too.
At college I have stopped taking in snacks and sweets but at the end of the morning shift I am feeling light headed and faint and desperate for food, lots of it. That is despite a filling breakfast.

I may need to change the breakfast. Cereal at home at 7.15 followed by two sausage and egg buttie at college at 8.15 clearly isn't enough to keep my blood sugars up for the whole morning.

Porridge? that's supposed to be good because oats are slow release, so instead of a peak of energy and then a dip, you get a gradual energy release.

You can make it interesting with fruit (fresh, or raisins etc), although I tend to do away with the healthy bit and add muscovado sugar (and yoghurt if I have any, a nice sharp/sweet combo).

Or, find snacks that are filling but not too fatty. Plain oaty biscuits, instead of choccy ones. It's easy to say though - I've only recently learned to see raisins as a nice snack out on rides, rather than a disappointing substitute for a mars bar.

Do you have cornflakes or a proper cereal like Porridge, Night Train?

I feel much better for following the Weight Watchers diet. I think that is the one Waffles followed. It is sensible eating really and healthy, you can have as much fruit and veg as you wish. My downfall is the attack of the late-night munchies, but I able to allow for that in my daily "allowance". It is not calculating calories to the nth degree, which would be boring and tedious and time consuming, but easy to add up "points" for different foods.

It is the changes like having bacon and scrambled eggs instead of jam and butter on white bread for breakfast. The former is more filling, whereas the latter gives you a "sugar-high" and then later you feel sluggish.

Nairns do a very nice "Oatcake", plain or with fruit or cheesey ones. They do not need butter. You could put a teesy bit of jam on the plains ones - hmm wonder if that would be a better option for my late night munchies.
