Me too - just back from a ride. Having tea. Just 37 miles on the trike, but it was good to get out for the first time this year...

I has had cake too.....

I washed my cat this evening!
She wasn't overly pleased but accepted it in the end. She looks better but still isn't eating.

Might have to make a decision soon.

What has the vet advised NT? I know when I had to make that decision a few years ago it was very difficult but you must do what is right for her

The vets are leaving the desicion to me reminding me not to let her suffer or to starve to death.
Fizzy certainly doesn't seem to be suffering but neither is she eating.

From 'reading her' she seems to be quite happy spending time with me regardless of what I impose upon her with syringe feeding and now washing. Any upset seems more to do with wanting food and not understanding why we won't give her anything to eat. She still gets excited at the sound or possiblity of food but then doesn't want any in her mouth. She will chew and then spit out so her teeth aren't troubling her. When I get the syringe jet in the right place she has swallowed and then helpped herself to some food so swallowing isn't a problem either.

I am still mostly convinced that there is something, maybe her 'lump', that is causing her saliva to taste wrong hence not wanting to eat food that has been in her mouth and salivating all over herself.

Cats clean themselves with their saliva but Fizzy's is leaving thick brown clumps on her front paws and face when she washes.

The vet can only find a little tartar on her teeth, nothing major and not worth putting her under to deal with. They feel she is not well due to not eating so that and her age, 18, means that they are reluctant to put her under for any invasive treatment or x.rays. They did do an ultrasound and found a lump on or beside her liver.
Her blood tests have all come back normal.
I'm as stumped about it all.

If she looked and acted poorly and in discomfort the decision would be simple. But she doesn't.

I hadn't realised she is 18, that's a decent age for a cat, our two are 14ish years old now and starting to have a few little health issues themselves.
Fingers crossed for her, you'll make the right decision I'm sure.

Off to bed for an early start

Well I got approx 1 hours sleep last night, always difficult to sleep after coming off a week of late shift.
Absolutely shattered today, still managed to ride in but am glad to be home, no doubt I'll be nodding off in the armchair soon

Think a cuppa and a light snack might be on the agenda for right now

Evening all!

Warmest day of the year so far I think. We were finished on the round by lunchtime, so we spent the afternoon washing boxes, and now my clothes smell of woodsmoke.

Anyone who can work the connection out, gets a point.

Tea?

Woodsmoke scented detergent

Yes please. That big mug and no milk please.

Dentist today. My teeth are now cleaner and my next check up is in 6 months. So here's my best (clean teeth) smile
