I wouldn't have had so much to drink, but I'd already bought a half, and the pie and a pint was a special deal. I feel a bit too full now... Time to sleep it off, like a python.

Ok!

What sort of distance - 50 miles, 60? ;)

Neat mudguards anyway! A little rough and ready, but that's the KMX style really, they aren't a machine to be prissy about. If they work, that's what matters. So are you hoping for some rain to go out in?:rain:
Ummm....:surrender:
How about a drag race? 100m sprint (that's metres not miles);), or a Top Gear Tractor drag race pulling what ever can be tied to the back of the trikes.
I am a bit concerned that bits of the Ratrike wouldn't survive a long run. The chain has had a couple of twisted links removed and the backbone was stick welded, which isn't the best for thin steel.

Definately not rain though, the mudguards are more because the last time I rode the Ratrike I ran over some dog poo that ended up on my face!xx(

I'm quite sleepy now, I've been out catching up with an old friend, and after a pint and a half and a pie and mash, I'm ready for bed... :tired:
Lightweight!

Off to bed myself now I think.
Night all.

Tug of War? I think the Ratrike would have a bit of a weight advantage though....

Yeah, ugh!

Today at work we put our inventing hats on, and made a sort of bag-on-wheels for picking up bags of recycling - so one person can nip along the road, and pick up more bags than they could carry. In true St Nicks style, there are three bolts involved in the construction, all of which have different styles of head on them....

Tea anyone?

I have been giving some thought to the venue for the race between Catrike and Ratrike.

The Paris Nice cycling tour is nicknamed "The Race to the Sun". So could your race be on that track, near York, that goes past all the planets. I cannot remember the name of the last planet, and my knowledge of astronomy is limited. This is presuming that the track has no gates that restrict the width of the vehicle. You might need to do the race very early in the morning, so that there are very few pedestrians around.

Interesting idea!

Pluto is the last planet on the path - when it was laid out, Pluto was still a planet. It's about 5 miles from Selby, and the Sun is just on the edge of York. I think it's about 10km from the Sun to Pluto. If you travel at about 10mph, your scale speed is faster than the speed of light, so you end up younger at the end than at the start.

It's doable by trike - one narrowish tank trap at the Selby end, but I think either the trike goes through, or under the wheelchair hoop next to it. But the stretch from Neptune to Pluto is on the rough side.

There's a cafe at Saturn.

Arch I was on the bike path on sunday and the selby end is now all tarmac I am sure it wasnt before when I went down it last year I thought it was all gravel at that end.

Hoorah! That's good news. Last time I was there was last summer and it was still gravel then. That'll make the run much better, especially on a small wheeled trike on high pressure tyres.

Talking of timber, ;) my neighbour from over the road had a look at my broken leg. He reckoned he could fix it with some extra strong super glue and a clamp.
Let me know how that goes. Superglue often advises to moisten absorbent surfaces first so you may need to do that. Ignore the 'sets in 10 seconds' rubbish, leave it clamped for around an hour at least. I've never had much long term luck with super glue joints in wood.

Ooohh, that would be interesting! I'd be able to see myself arriving in my own mirrors.

OK, see you there.
Which ring would you suggest using?

I only realized after about a mile, I was zooming along thinking hang on this is a bit smooth the tarmac at the york end is still a bit lumpy though.

Yes, those tree roots by the inner planets are a right pain. They've skimmed some off the lumps, but that's just left rough ridges....

I've always though there should be a permanent cloud of midges between Mars and Jupiter, to represent the asteroid belt....
