Following advice from a person who knows about nutrition, I have made some changes to what I eat on a regular basis.

Goat's cheese instead of cheddar - it makes lovely toasted cheese sandwiches
Granary bread instead of wholemeal bread
peanuts instead of Snickers bars
more fruit, and drink more water
trying to eat my main meal of the day at lunchtime (I know this would be difficult for people at work).

Also doing more exercise, which should help. For lots of reasons, too boring to explain here, I am not going to Weightwatchers any more.

Doesn't usually stop you

As somebody who has the odd ocd habit regarding numbers, I feel this meticulous calorie counting will suit me quite well, was with a WW'er last week and it wasn't fun her constantly checking her 'bible' to see how many points were in this, that and the other
I will build up a list of my most favourite/popular foods and their calories and it should be fairly quick and simple to add it up at the end of the day, if I go 'over' I will have to get the bike out for a midnight ride around the block

I doubt you need to lose a stone Jo, you look more like you need feeding up a bit to me

Lol, that's coz I cunningly hide it all under baggy tshirts and refuse to wear lycra

Seriously, I woke up one morning and all the blubber had worked its way to ma belly. I wouldn't mind but it's a spare tyre for a lorry rather than a bike

And yes, I know, toning exercises would probably be better than calorie counting. I think I need a bums, tums and thighs class

I think the Weightwatchers points system may have helped me get a better idea of healthy eating.

I wrote a list of the main things I might have for breakfast, with their points value. Similarly for lunch and evening meal, and one for snacks like crisps, Snickers bars, ice cream etc. This avoided the laborious looking points up all the time in leaflets etc. Fruit and most vegetables, do not have a points value.

This does not mean, Spoty, that you can eat seventeen bananas in one day. ;)

Today I have had-
1 bananananana
1 apple
5 strawberries
some grapes
some blueberries
some raspberries

And a pack of Seabrooks cheese and onion

Is that a big fat zero points according to ww then? Does that mean I can now use my remaining cals to eat 10 Wispa bars?

I am sure that ColinJ would agree that eating just fruit is not sustainable for more than half a day or so.

I think you need some protein, and some vegetables!!!!!

That is just my fruit for the day, I am eating normally really, just keeping a check on it.
Had a corned dog salad sandwich for dinner, and will be having jacket potato, beans and salad for tea

Unless he is secretly a fruitbat?

Tea anyone? Another horribly hot stuffy day today. Clouding over now, I wish we could have a decent storm to clear the air...

Can't quite believe I'm typing this but I'll pass on the tea ... it's a bit hot here for hot drinks. :bravo: for :sun:

Going to take the bike out later when it's cooled off a bit. Must remember to take my lights.
