Hoorah! Today I found out that the hardware shop on Bishopthorpe Road stocks the especial sort of scourers that my Mum likes, but can't get anywhere any more. I'm seeing her next weekend, so I 've bought two packs to take!

How did it go, Baggy? I thought of you at 11, but then started being jealous once we reached Tiverton and decided that we'd done a far worse route than anything the Gorge can throw at you.

We met this guy at the pub:

Ah, that's better!

Had an excellent day thanks, wonderful weather, a good route and saw a couple of other CC'ers en route. Cheddar Gorge was actually a really nice climb (think we go there at about 12.20 in the end, had to stop for a cuppa at the bottom  ).

If it's any consolation to you, the route then took in Hinton Blewitt hill, and Dundry Hill. Dundry was a bit of a grind in the afternoon heat having just scoffed a BLT baguette at the pub beforehand...but the views were amazing.

The best part of it all is that my knee seems to have held up just fine, so maybe it's finally on the mend

Sounds like your ride was a bit of an epic, jo! That bloke at the pub looks a bit potty
