hello everyone. Any chance of a cuppa feeling "meh" today, sore neck, not quite right in general, and then had some terrible news this afternoon that a frien d I have known on-line for about 5yrs ago lost her baby daughter on Tuesday just days after celebrating the fact that she could finally go home (born premmie)

, and it's cold and horrible and I want to go and hide under a duvet.

rubbish isn't it. It's strange how crap stuff that happens to people you've never actually met can really kick you in the stomach isn't it. Met her on a parenting website, and then we added each other on FB, now feel really helpless as she's in Ireland
sad.gif

And my neck,,,, I think I may need to go see a Dr about it - it's not got any better since Tuesday....

I know you feel helpless, because in this situation everyone IS helpless. But I've no doubt you'll be the best friend you can, given the distance.

I'd offer you a neck massage, but I might dislocate something, so I'll just make you up a nice hotwater bottle wrapped in towel instead, if that helps.

Back from 2 weeks travelling across Java and Bali... never want to hear another moan from British drivers again, we are sticklers for rules, drive faster than we should, but are very, very slow on the uptake.... and yet everyone here is so, so angry!!! Chill out!

had a minor achievement to cheer me up a bit - managed to sort the thermostat and get the heating back on aditttedly this only required finding a screwdriver, or butter knife as children have lost my screwdrivers, removing said unit from the wall, taking the back off and putting batteries in and replacing.

So wanting to get out on my bike tomorrow - but given I'm having trouble turning my head to even cross the road that's out as I wont' be able to check behind me

I got some new parts for Granville today, a chain and some cables. Whie I was about it I decided to make a new cable clamp for the rear drum brake to replace the stack of washers on a bolt.

I used the plain end of an M8 coach bolt, drilled a 2mm hole for the cable and then drilled and tapped to M5 for the clamping screw.

While Granville was apart for some general tinkering and drive train....

*Geez! There was just an almighty clap of thunder outside! Made me jump!*

....cleaning I thought I would try something and for a moment Granville became a longtail bike!

Never mind. Think of all the scrap you'd have to play with!

Ah!

I think perhaps a fog is slowly lifting....

So, is he better now? Poor thing, the only schizophrenic bike in history!

I'm off to Mum's for the weekend tomorrow after work, I really ought to pack my bag...
