Are you sure it wasn't six quid?

That would of course make a better joke, but no. There were two of us, so that was 5 six quids between us. Must be an epidemic.

There were quite a lot of squids in Chinatown in restaurant windows, all beyond the help of vets I fear.

There are two men cleaning windows on the opposite building, by abseiling down it. Gosh, the big city really is exciting.

Also, in this case, I probably ought to get dressed before we open the curtains any more....

Please make sure you use your mollusc card properly. Ticket Inspectors are known to be clam ping down on improper use of molluscs.

:hello:

Good to see you've been (mostly) behaving yourselves in my absence. I have put on at least a stone. Possibly more. Failed to take any cake photos, though. I was too busy scoffing it :mrpig: And I had at least one chocolate brownie for each of you. Two for Potsy.

Tea?

Mmmmmmm.

Other than finishing off the remains of the bottle of Baileys I've brought back with me, I am going to Eat Properly for the rest of the month.

Pots, you back on the wagon yet? I won't mock you this time.

No, really.

Wagon? What wagon

As I've just had a scotch egg and a pint of choccy milkshake for my pre-meal snack I don't think I would class myself as being back on it yet

Nice to get away for a few days wasn't it Jo?

It was great. Typically, since it didn't rain, I could have taken the bike and earned some of the calories. Not up this hill though

Today I have been to the Science Museum, wandered from Covent Garden to Leicester Square, brandished my mollusc about a lot, eaten a few other molluscs as part of a delicious 3 course dinner in a restaurant overlooking Tower Bridge, and been on a driverless train.

And you know what I'm most excited about? In the materials gallery of the museum, I saw a mouse! It ran across the floor in front of us, and then ran back again.

I wonder if it looks at the exhibits at night?

Having a last late night Tea now...

I just popped in to find out if you lot were still here - I see you are - byeeeee! :hello:

(And if I don't speak to you again before the weekend, potsy, hopefully I will see you for one final 2011 local hillfest!)

Arch, I do hope you are not going to be shellfish, and that you will tell us more about your meal.

We ate at the Butlers Wharf Chop House.

http://www.chophouse-restaurant.co.uk/

The bar menu is very reasonable - 2 courses for £12, 3 for £15. We ordered different things and shared, so we started with mussels, and haddock and salmon fishcakes, then a flounder and the roast pork for mains, and finished off with sticky toffee pudding and apple crumble.

Bit of a treat, but pretty good value for London!
