We're looking to stay in or around Alnwick. I'm told it's a wonderful area.
Lots to see and do... Howick Hall, Cragside, Alnwick Castle and Gardens, Alnmouth, Dunstanburgh Castle, Embleton beach, Farne Islands, Craster [Kippers], Warkworth Castle, Bamburgh and Holy Island [Lutyens interior of Lindisfarne Castle]. Plenty of teashops and you have to book Bistro 23 [on Alnmouth main street] for dinner on Wednesday night. Barter Books [massive second hand bookshop in the old Alnwick railway station [tea and biscuits reading by the open fires].

You'll have a fantastic holiday Nigel.
